16 th time ever. It's rarer than a perfect game. Also he is one base shy of tying the record.

I don't think I'd sign Hamilton to a long term deal because of age and injuries but fuck, that dude is awesome and going to get paid. Between kemp and Hamilton, baseball is good...

he is fun to watch, but yeah I wouldn't give him a big contract either. especially with what you said and the fact that he's always one beer or line away from going off the deep end (sucks to say that but it's true)

Yeah, dude, if the rangers are concerned about that shit, and they clearly are, everyone should. Dude is fun to watch hit though, I am coming around on the guy.

    18 total fucking bases?!?!

I've got to say that Hamilton's night sure was impressive.

I would make the argument that the perfect game was not the most impressive night of the year now. It is early May and we have seen a perfect game, a no hitter, and a 4 home run/18 base night.

I don't know what I want the Rangers to to do. I don't want them to give him an Albert Pujols or Matt Kemp type of extension because of his age, durability and (hopefully all in the past) off-field issues. But I don't want him to just walk away after this season either. And I don't think he will take some 3-year deal or anything like that.

I wouldn't feel as conflicted about it had Nelson Cruz just caught that ball in Game 6 last year.

I've really enjoyed his time here. He has helped bring attention and validation to this goofy, backwards, minor joke of a franchise. He's the most dynamic player in the game right now. I hope he stays.

One thing he will have to consider: the Rangers lineup is stacked. He gets pitches to hit because he followed by people like Beltre, Young, Cruz, Napoli, etc. Otherwise he may be getting the Bonds treatment.

With his past history...And all his nonsense.

Wouldnt it be nice if Mr. Hamilton were to accept a 3 year deal at about $45 million, to stay in Texas.

    It wont happen.
    But it would be nice.

I'd give him 6 years/85 million and promise to get another big bat too.

Whoever signs Hamilton needs to have a clause in the deal that allows the team to void it if they choose if he relapses just to protect themselves in case there's a next time and it doesn't end with just 1 night. It would also be a very good idea to have a slightly lower base salary with incentives for games played, but I doubt that will happen.

there's no reason for him to accept anything less than the max he can get....it's what everyone does.

the list of the last five guys to hit 4 in a game is not that impressive, other than josh.

baltimore fans sure are skeptical....two first place teams.....less than 12,000 in attendance

Baseball-reference has him ranked as the 151st best hitter of all time. Pretty damn good stats. Almost made the 500 HR Club, .280 average, averaged 120 RBIs per year, and had a .383 OBP.
