I resign myself to think this kind of injury was bound to happen regardless, when I'm sure the inevitable backlash will start swirling around for the WBC. And damn what a disappointment that DR team was.

    And, also, yes, LOLMets.
This has happened before.  I'll say like 10 years or so when the walk off became a must celebration, someone broke their leg and the team banned it.

I'd have to use the google to find it but it has happened.
    Kendrys Morales, your Halos.
Ahhh, that's why I remember it.  TY!  Good memory F Me!

Wait what's actually banned? I don't think anything is.

I mean something David Robertson injured himself last playoffs celebrating a Harper homer. These dumb, random things happen.

The Angels briefly banned the celebration when Morales hurt himself.

I can't believe a guy injuring himself celebrating is being used as a cudgel against the WBC. Maybe just be careful instead.

    Yeah, LOL Mets.

Sometimes these players celebrate real hard. I get scared someone will get hurt. They jump high. They bump into each other.

They jump way too high. Agreed. Need to jump lower.

Yeah I know. If they would limit how high they jump, they’d minimize the risk of injury.

Also in the NFL they need to stop tackling teammates or hitting their helmets. It's like great job. Here's a concussion

Watched that Turner replay about 10 times.  Awesome stuff.
Know a guy who flew down for the weekend and was there.  Look forward to hearing how that was, in person

Altuve out 8-10 weeks....that's going to suck. I think Hensley & Dubon can fill in on the field, but not having him at leadoff will sting.

The last ~7 months of baseball has completely renewed some Kid Joy in the game for me. Also, no new rules in this tournament and it's been awesome. I understand the need to hurry games along, but I don't think any of these dumb rules should apply to the playoffs.

In fairness don't they both just choose the heritage from their mother's side vs their father's side?

Since the WBC started there have been Americans playing for other countries based on family connections.

I mean I think the rules are loose across the board, and really, at the end of the day, who cares? But, yeah, his mom is Japanese. Garret Stubbs is playing for Israel, Matt Harvey for Italy, Vance Worley for Britain. I love it, play where ever, get these countries into it, grow the game.

That was fun. A couple really bad at bats after people got on base in the 8th and 9th from US

Congrats to Japan 🇯🇵! Fun/good game. Phillies players came through with a few homers, but not enough.
