Same as the Bob Dylan version, I believe. I don't usually play the C# chord in the first verse, it seems unnecessary.

    http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/b/b ... r2_crd.htm

The intro picking can be approximated with D/B, or whatever it is you call this chord:

    e -x-
    B -3-
    G -2-
    D -0-
    A -2- <
start with open fret and hammer on
    E -x-

    Hope that made sense.
  • Vedder actually plays it in the key of G major, at least to my ears, and it's different from any other tab I've found out there (you can listen to it at gremmie.net ... Self-indulgent side note: I was there for that show, May 24, 2006 ... awesome time. Had seats behind the stage due to not getting my fan club tickets, long story I won't get into, but it was an opportunity to make a sign that said "Best Seats in the House! MATT CAM!" to hold up at the end of the night. Cameron gave me a point with his sticks at the end and threw them in my general direction, but they were nabbed by the folks in front of me. Damn.) Anyway, here's how I've worked out, albeit briefly, the cover of Forever Young that night:

The little riff he does while playing G at the beginning and between the first and second half of each verse:
    e
    B
    G
    D
    Oh2p0
    A---0--2
    E

Chords (please forgive the chopped up words, but I can't seem to use spaces and I wanted to match the words with the chords as they're played):
    G
May God bless and keep you always,
    D
May your wishes all come true,
    Am
May you always do for others, and let
    C
    others do for
    G
    you.
    G
May you build a ladder to the stars
    D
And climb on every rung, and may you
    C
    stay.... ayyy,
    D
    ayyy ... forever
    G
    young ... forever
    D
    young ... forever
    Em
    young ... may you
    G
    stay.... ayyy,
    D
    ayyy .... forever
    G
    young.

Chords over the harmonica solo are just the verse and the chords don't change in the second verse in this performance (the third verse in the original song). Hope you find this accurate!
