as much as love the NBA, and feel that as a city seattle deserves pro sports, the sonics drew some putrid numbers. i feel them though because i am a nets fans and we are averaging around 13,000, and that number may be generous on some nights. im praying that the nets move to the new prudential center in newark, rather than the barclays thing planned in brooklyn

No, the record book, team history, team colors, banners, championship trophy, and the name all stay in Seattle.

as much as love the NBA,

I fucking hate the NBA and always have.

The Sonics aren't moving due to lack of support in this city, contrary to your implications. The Sonics are moving because an Okie asshole poached the team with the blessings of douchbag owners (except Allen and Cuban), and a crooked commissioner.

Jeff said that based on that vote, if the team does go he's done with the NBA, so I guess he's done with the NBA.

indeed true, Jeff has said he's over the NBA and that he's actually more excited about college ball these days,...

Sonics fan , or former fan now, Im done with the NBA also, although I knew this day was coming it still sucks. Schulz the Starbucks bastard is really at fault , he should have sold to local owners instead of the redneck scumbag Bennett. Guess I'll wait and see if Vegas gets a team or I'm sure another team may move (memphis) to Seattle in a few years. College basketball is better in my opinion anyway.

Are the Thunderbirds still in Seattle, at least?

You must suck at critical thinking. It was clear that the team was bought with the idea of bringing it to Oklahoma City. It had nothing to do with Seattle or its fans. There was never any intention by the current owners to buy the team to keep it in Seattle.

I'm so sick of the NBA, the games are painful to watch.

    College ball is far superior.

Actually OK gets 'shared history'. Which is total bullshit. They share the record book. They also get 'duplicate' banners, jerseys and championship trophy. Can you beleive that? A duplicate Championship Trophy!? WTF is that?

yeah this is bullshit, as a die hard 76ers fan, i feel for the peeps in seattle. i would probably disown the NBA if the sixers left too, greedy owners moving to a fan base that will care a lot less than the seattle fans did. sure it will be the cool new team in town until they start losing and averaging 5,000 a night. its a sad day for shawn kemp
Small my table, seats just 3, its not crowded, its just lucky me

I want the City of Seattle, as a penalty, make Howard Schultz purchace ALL of the OKC backetball team season tickets for the upcoming NBA season. ALL of them. He can afford it.

Technically they will be 'sold out'. But, I want the tickets to go unused. An EMPTY arena....for an entire season! 82 NBA games played in utter silence.
