when our kids are little we stress how important it is to share with others....then we get older and become more selfish even arguing against medical coverage.....

yep...it's similar to the people that go to church each week and talk about how great and caring Jesus was and how he loved the poor and despised the rich yet they throw out the lazy poor people slurs when discussing health care, etc.

It stops being about sharing with one another, and starts being about hoarding everything for one's self. You can blame money in doing that to a person.

do you really think 'money' is THE reason?
i mean, in any civilization, you could always find some haves and have-nots.....and many of these societies did not really deal with money per se. i think greed, hoarding, selfishness, etc.....come from some basic human nature, not the idea of money. and this is not to say that simply b/c such instincts may appear in human nature means that they are right or should be encouraged....just sayin' i don't think money, in and of itself, is the root f all the evils of the world. money is merely a construct, a means of trade, and sure....just a 3D manifestation of our own needs, hoarding, selfishness, etc.
    Stay with me...

    it's not really funny...just sad...

seriously, I don't get the push against having a "public option"...heck, I say we bring back the "free clinic"...you know, a gov't run doctor's office where folks can just go and be seen...that way, people can choose to go to the clinic or use their private insurance (if they have it) and see the doctor allowed by their private, for-profit insurance plan...

sadly, someone figured out how to make a profit off of sickness and despair...it reminds me of my last job working with foster kids...the program was non-profit at first, then was sold to a for-profit company...after the sale the program went downhill fast...it wasn't about placing kids in safe environments, it was about placing kids in homes of anyone with a heartbeat...random story, I know...I just wanted to share...
