I got into this band from a fellow boardie, seeing them saturday night. Totally digging Thermata right now!

Sound like Silverchair + Tool + A Perfect Circle i guess. Check em out!

Yeah i have, only once and i thought it was a lot less downtempo album compared to thermata but gonna listen to that one loads as im done with thermata for the time being.

I guess the whole proginess thing with a high pitched singer, could maybe even say dream theater in one or two songs.

not familiar with dream theater. but im very familiar with TOOL. i dont hear prog in karnivool. *shrugs*

once youre 'done with' karnivool you might want to take a listen to COG(if you havent already)

are you aware of ian kennys 'other' band.. birds of tokyo??

Well actually im not done with Thermata, i cant stop frickin' listening to it, im meant to be sleeping right now but im just basking in this album with shuffle! Sewn and Silent and and Fear Of The Sky i think are the ones i love most.

I know of Cog, yeah Vedder_Soup told me about them, will check them out. Dont know any of his other side projects but will certainly check them out. Ian sounds so much like Daniel Johns!

Okay yeah maybe they dont sound too proggy but Scarabs is like dream theater with the sound of the riff etc. Top band, should listen to them! Systematic Chaos is epic.

id class this as one of the quiet songs. lends itself wildly to acoustic... if karnivool ever got the urge.

discovering a worthy support band is alway brilliant.

i had major band clashes last week and unfortunately COG drew the short straw. which was a shame cause i so love seeing them live.

i saw them 5 times last year and once this year. there are very few benfits to living in perth music wise but karnivool playing free shows and playing nearly every second month is one of them
