What all instruments did Eddie play on the Solo Tour?

(Main Electric that he used for nearly ever electric song during Santa Cruz and Berkeley, from Walking the Cow to Hard Sun. No idea the vintage but it was really clean. And I think McCready played it Berk2. Well, played is an understatement of course.)

Is that the "194X brown Martin 0-18" ? Again, Berk2 he said "And I'm informed that my favorite guitar for last 12 years, is actually owned by Stone." Think he was waving back at this one. Not sure, but made sense.

This guitar was out a lot, I wanna say songs like Satellite, Broken Hearted, Goodbye to some of the ITW songs were played on this.

And I will always recall that with McCready sitting right there, Ed lit into a lead harmonica solo to start off Watchtower! And yeah, he ripped it up!

(Berkeley 1 tuning was shot on the White Strat after one song, out came "ah, one of my first guitars!" Hmm, not sure if that's actually it, pictured, seemed to recall a whammy? Hmm, this one in '06 is speckled, looks blue in some shots? But same arrow/target on soundhole, hmm seems to be some hardware for the whammy, half the guitar is black?... WTF?)

And Kathy has some good notes as well, mentions seeing a really distressed white '5os Telecaster in SB?

    Thanks for the info...always wondered what his tele-uke actually was. Too bad I'm not quite ready to shell out that much cash for a uke!

    EDIT: aw heck, never mind -- the 5-15 is the cheap mahogany version of the Terz, it's only like $700 or so, and from the picture, the sides of Ed's guitar look like the darker rosewood, not all mahogany. The top though looks darker than the typical $3000 Terz -- me thinks it just must be and older Size 5 that's aged well...

    I was wondering what he used to stomp on to get sort of a bass drum effect. I know it had to do with the Corona box but anyone know how it was done?

    You can see it in the Rolling Stone picture linked above - The Evidence.

    It's actually the flat wooden box, like a small stage or podium riser, that has a mic on it (you can see the mic in front of the Corona box). He would just stomp/tap his foot on the wood riser to get his beat.

    The Corona Box with the Kick Drum pedal was just a sight gag, he never stomped on that (that I saw). Got me gigglin thou!

    thanks for they reply. I saw him too, and you're right. Im pretty sure he never hit the corona box. I was just wondering how that wooden box was rigged. I do some solo stuff every once and a while and would like to have some sort of percussion. I would be interested to figure out how this was hooked up, or I was just thinking of getting a cheap kick drum or something. Thanks for the input though!

    Just thought I would add to the discussion of the Martins that Ed was playing on the show.

    As best I can tell, he had three different ones. So as best I can tell:

    Mini Martin
    As posted above as "the evidence". Beyond the woods used, the way to tell this is the Mini, and not the 5-15 is that it has the shiny (abalone?) rosette around the sound hole.

    Also interesting is that he had the Martin Mini strung Nashville-style for the show, resulting in the high "chimey" sound. I used to do this with my Baby Taylor before I sold it, and found it was a real nice sound that provided a nice counterpart to a rosewood dread.

    The easiest way to do the Nashville setup is to use all the high strings from a 12-string set, and tune to regular pitch.

    Frenchs -- thanks! Nashville style! Never heard of that, will have to check that out when I buy my parlor! There was an ebay auction of roadie's set list that indicated which insturment was played on which songs and the Parlor wasn't used as often as I thought -- but the high-chimey songs it was (forget now). Mostly used on ITW stuff, few quick songs.

    Great ID on the Mini! Got to hold one finally at Sam Ash in NY (with like 10 year old strings on it, sigh).

    At the Bay Area Trifecta (SC, Berk1,2) I never saw the spruce-top, it was all 'hog! I thought that was the 0-18, thanks for settin' me straight.

    Jam10 -- yer tellin me! Again, i saw 3 shows and at Berk1 he had slammed the strat whammy finishing out Parting Ways, went to play Forever Young and it was all outta tune. So I got to hear a bit meatier version on the Black Tele -- esp as he had just put the Strat down, you could hear the difference, nice but meatier and muddier? The white strat was just freakin perfect for his songs!

    I've always been an LP player, but my mentor pulled out his strat the other night and I played it for a bit ... oh man, anuther acoustic or another electric? When friends pop in, we're more apt to play acoustic so I think I'll stick to trackin down a parlor....
