Looking at the footage provided for the audience at these shows... one cannot help but notice the high quality of the images as well as the cinematography.

Odds of a video release of the tour start off at 5:3

BTW excellent addition to the shows. I know its a bit more high tech than normal PJ... but it is wonderful to watch closeups of Mike and Stone's guitar work for instance.

I think Ed called one of the cameramen by their first name in Brooklyn. If it was strictly a local cameraman filming just for the screens, its unlikely a name would be remembered on stage, so I'm guessing they have a touring crew just for the video. ...and what happens to this, who knows... Lots of potential though. :D
ADD 5,200 to the post count you see, thank you. :)

Yeah, I noticed that at Wrigley ....really cool. Especially for me since I was sitting about a mile away from the stage!

I'm pretty shocked that the band hasn't put out a concert on Bluray yet. At a minimum I would of thought they would of reissued imagine in cornice on Bluray. The packaging has a few spots where it says filmed in HD on it. The footage from that tour appears to be in HD in the PJ20 doc. It would be awesome to get a re-release of it on bluray.

That's the last concert disc we have and it from the umm.. 2006 tour? The only thing we have is the Eddie Solo Bluray and the second disc of the pj20 set which is mostly from non-hd sources.

I always hoped gorge 05 would make it out on bluray.. but it never did :(

Hopefully we get one from this tour.

All we have in HD is that full length HD concert video from Brazil this year (lollapalooza?). It's pretty killer, but you'd think the guys would like to make some money :)
  • Almost certainly the same cameramen for each show, b/c around 30 minutes before each show starts, they climb up temporary ladders into the lighting rig on the left & right sides in front of the stage. Not saying local people can't climb ladders, but it's all so choreographed and the footage has such a similar look & feel for the four shows I've seen.

the camera work is VERY good.

like way better than most other concerts I have been to (if not all).

A complete CD + DVD/Blu-ray Combo pack for every PJ USA '13 show sold @ the 10club store would be fun on the bun!!! :D
  • I thought those were lighting guys climbing up. there is one cameraman on stage, usually shooting from behind, and at least 1 shooting from the floor, between the stage and the rail. There has to eb a "centerfield" camera too shooting from far back with a zoom

With all the filming going on nowadays I feel like every show I go to I find video online with the boots dubbed over after they come out. Getting the Spectrum shows were pretty awesome but Blu Ray would be bangin.
    '08- Camden 1-2   '09- Chicago 2; Spectrum 1-4
    '10- MSG 1-2   '11- PJ20
'12- MIA; DeLuna '13- Wrigley; Pitt; Brooklyn 1-2; Philly 1-2; Baltimore; Seattle
    '14- Denver   '16- Philly 1-2; MSG 2
    '17- Pilgrimage Music Fest (Eddie)
    '18- Fenway

would be great to offer videos of each show, but, frankly I just would never have the time to watch them. I still haven't gotten around to watching the PJ bonus disc...

    You're missing out! It's great!

And this has to be the thread of the day ;) the footage they are using on the screens is amazing, and all I can think when I see it is "that's clearly 1080p and I would LOVE a DVD or blu ray of this quality!"

I have a feeling, not a full show but a comp DVD will come out this year like touring band 2000. We've seen with the spectrum and PJ 20 that they are over critical and won't release something not up to standards, so that's the most likely bet. They can pick and choose the best performances.

    Can't wait!

I've been fortunate enough to see Pearl Jam live.

I am hanging in the balance of a perfect finished plan

    LOL

Me and my friend noted the same thing at Philly...He said "That shit looks like it's gonna end up on Palladia!!!" The cinematography is not only awesome but they seem to be getting all the right moments. There's no delay which makes it super awesome when they go from eddie right up on the mic to mike's hands as he breaks into a solo!
Here's praying for a Blu-Ray!!! Black and White would be cool and fitting!!!

  • Ed announced at the Charlotte show that they hired two new guys for this tour, and they are responsible for a lot of how it is being done.

I personally think this is the BEST video footage Pearl Jam has ever done. It looks better than any of the concert films.

I say we start the petition now for a 2013 Video Bootleg offer from the Ten Club!
