Thankyou 10 club -dreams do come true

Ok so Ive read a lot of negative threads about why the lottery system is or is not fair, why people with low numbers or living close by should get priority etc. I also appreciate that those who obtained tickets will have less to complain about but I just wanted to put my perspective on it....seeing as everyone else already has
I am from Ireland and when I grew up we didnt have much cash. From the minute 10 came out I loved it....me and a couple of my friends spent our teenage years listening to PJ and Soundgarden dreaming about marrying any member of the band and actually getting to see them. Down through the years I have grown with the band to recognise the importance of making a stand for what you believe in and doing it! They have been a role model in some areas and have provided the soundtrack to many parts of my life. And would you believe it Ive gotten over the crushes altogether and now only want to hear the music!
We recently had a meet up and pulled some stuff from the school days out and had a giggle over it.
Exhibit A my 1993-94 homework notebook featuring various scribbles:

Exhibit B the Eddie Doll:

As I said we didnt have much cash growing up so one year I decided to make my best friend's christmas present. It was a rag doll Eddie Vedder that I went to great pains in getting right. You cant tell from the early 90s photography but he is wearing a replica cordoury jacket that I actually used tea to stain, twice to get the colour as close as possible
(and yes I was a total looker in my teens - thats me in the santa hat)
Anyway...why am I telling this story? I suppose because the point is ...I didnt have the opportunity to have a low 10 club number or to see pearl jam in the US because age, money and geography conspired against me ...does that mean I havent been a life long fan? Not it doesnt.
I somehow...by some twist of fortune...... have managed to get tickets to see Pearl Jam in Seattle GA. Like most people on the board this has been my dream since hearing Pearl Jam and watching videos of Seattle as a kid. The lottery being random has allowed this to happen. No bias towards low numbers or location which excludes the majority of members but totally random that someone who joined 6th july had as much chance as someone with number 10! (i didnt join on 6th July just for the record) I believe this has to be the fairest way of allocating something in short supply across so many devoted fans!
For those of you who werent as lucky....I know it must be so dissappointing for you,but please remember that just because someone who joined after you got a ticket doesnt mean they didnt deserve, want it or earn it as much as you did.
This is MY DREAM....Im gonna live it
I am still getting palpitations and finding it hard to breathe when I think this may actually come true! I promise to get the absolute most out of my ticket for those of you who cant be there and dance and rock til the cows come home (as we say in Ireland)!
No idea how Im going to pay off the credit card but at the end of the day it will all work out
Anyway thanks again to 10 club for the chance to be there and keep an eye out for a mad Irishone at the gig for those of you who are going!
May the odds be ever in our favor

Hope you have a great flight towards Seattle and of course enjoy the show...
I hope they add a 2nd show so you can have twice the fun.
I know how Charlie felt when he found the golden ticket!
No sticking pins iin eddie i promise haha.....although maybe we missed a chance there :-)
I will keep my eyes open for a second gig but and just really grateful to be at the first one crossing my fingers and toes nothing causes it to be cancelled.....but will be having a blast one way or another!
