when they play Even Flow for 379,258,164th time and many patrons go to use the troughs, that is the one good part about the song there is actually enough time to go take a piss and not miss any other songs
it is not like the band is going to play the badass version like this anymore

You've posted the same thing numerous times now.
Yes we know you don't like even flow.
Yes we know you think it's a piss break song.
Yes we know you like to like to a YouTube version you think is superior to the current version.
Yes we know you will continue to makes posts about this.
I don't mean to be rude here. Just straight. I don't comment on your posts I don't agree with I just no longer reply in them. But this is a post completely about the same thing.
Even flow vs sad and light years? I'm pretty sure you covered all this in that thread you made.0 -
yeah well if they did not play it 50 times a day on Pearl Jam radio maybe I wouldn't be so burned out on it, a guy can only take hearing a song so many times before he snaps, so once Pearl Jam radio chill out on the overplay of the song then I will chill out on my rants about itsmanchac1 wrote:You've posted the same thing numerous times now.

There are millions of other radio stations and hundreds of bootlegs available.
If your going to "snap" from hearing even flow maybe it's you who should take a break.
Play a cd, use an iPod or a pc to make your own playlists.
We get that you hate even flow, you've said it enough.
You do get not everyone listens to pearl jam radio all day and the people who bought tickets to see pearl jam in concert might actually want to hear one of their most famous songs played live? Just because you've burnt it out doesn't mean there is anything wrong with the song. It's a great song and should be played at every concert.0 -
well I don't think any song should be played at EVERY concert so that is a fundamental difference in viewpoints there, the band should have confidence enough in the rest of their catalog, cause frankly there so many better songs they have writtensmanchac1 wrote:There are millions of other radio stations and hundreds of bootlegs available.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA !! Sorry, but funny this should come up!! When I told my sister I was taking her to Wrigley with me, she immediately asked... " they'll play Evenlow, right??" I just laughed my ass off and told her..."Trust, that song is pretty much a given on their set list!!"0

it was probably a typo but you just gave me a new name for the song, thank you, and this thread is worth it for that alone, you totally just made my day and it has just started, it will be an outstanding day

Wow, this old chestnut again! Really? If you listen to PJ radio so much then I'm pretty sure you're hearing a lot of Do The Evolution, Alive, Small Town, Given To Fly etc.... The whole reason I don't listen to PJ radio is that I hate having the same songs forced on me the whole time. Everybody gets it now, you're burned out on Even Flow. I think there's many here who are burned out on your continuous negativity on the same subject. Nothing you say is going to change it. Even if the band happened to read these threads I'm sure all it would do is make them more determined to play the song to stick two fingers up the person who continually belittles their song choices. Maybe it is you who needs to change the record because this is becoming very boring now. Pearl Jam radio are not listening to you... :roll:Like a book among the many on a shelf...

"I just wouldn't want any song to be overplayed"
I feel the way he felt, somewhere along the line became acceptable and he changed his mind, which I guess more than anything saddens me, and you are right I will just give up my XM subscription not worth 20 bucks a month to hear Ten over and over0 -

Yeah I get your point but Ed contradicts himself with a lot of what he says. I've reached a point with many songs where I have to skip them which obviously you can't do on the radio but with PJ being played 24/7 you're going to have to accept that it's repetitive or quit listening. I personally love Even Flow but at the same time if they dropped it for a lesser played song I've not heard yet I'd be delighted. Ten is the bread and butter for a lot of fans still today and without it they wouldn't be where they're at now. I don't mean to sound offensive about it but you have had many better threads on more interesting subjects that I've enjoyed reading and replying to. I just find the piss break threads very old when there's so many good songs, albums and shows that could be getting discussed instead.Like a book among the many on a shelf...

Same here. Just for the solo alone, it's different every time. I don't tend to listen to the studio versions much nowadays and I'm currently going through the 2006 boots in order - started show #51 of the tour today, that's 51 boots listening since end of February. Obviously I've heard Even Flow on probably 90-95% of those boots and I don't tire of it, I always get a kick hearing it on a boot or live at a gig. I don't understand the piss break mentality, is that more of a American thing? If I'm at a gig I want to see the band, not get drunk and spend half my time having a piss!!
I think Ed generally does a great job with the setlists and obviously has to cater for the hardcore fan, the casual fan and the newbie. Even Flow will always belong in a Pearl Jam setlist, it is a great song, it is one of their biggest songs, it gets the crowd going and the band all get to kick-ass on it.2000: Manchester

I like hearing the hits too. Wrigley will be a 3+ hour show. If PJ played all deep cuts, 50% of the crowd will be bored. That makes a boring show for everyone including the band.92 - Orlando

And they need to play Evenflow so we get the Evenflow jump. How can they do the Evenflow jump if they don't play Evenflow?92 - Orlando

I agree 100%. and the masses don't usually take a piss during evenflow, it's just the spoiled 10c section that does (which I'm apart of every show). the rest of the crowd is rocking their asses off. most of the crowd takes a piss during songs that the 10c loves like black, red and yellow and alone. to the "typical" fan they're like, "what the hell song is this?" these typical fans come to hear evenflow, jeremy, daughter, last kiss, etc.I'll ride the wave where it takes me......0 -

They didn't play Even Flow in Missoula and I was actually disappointed since it was my husband's 1st PJ show and he was looking forward to it. I was too since it had been over 10+ years since I had seen them live. Love the energy of the song...for old and new fans alike!
