Last Friday I was playing a solo concert in Springfield, IL and I got to a song on the setlist that I just didn't feel like playing, so I just hit the first few notes of Better Man and the place went nuts. So, I told them if they knew it to sing it...and they did. I kind of did what Ed does and let them take the first verse and chorus. So, yeah, that was cool. What followed though was really cool.
So I played Better Man and at the end say how they liked that one. I said I could stand here all night and play PJ and I play the first couple of notes from I Got Shit and, again, this group is happy and I hear, "this guy drummed in a Pearl Jam tribute band". I asked the guy to come up on stage and take the drums and we'll play that song. I'd never met the guy in my life and we rocked it pretty good and, I think, did it justice.
