I saw this too. Didn't he supposedly oversell this poster and was not able to fill everyone's order? Now it turns out he is auctioning them off 7 of them on ebay like a flipper.
At least when 10club throws items on ebay they are listed as going for charity or a friend in need, not to line their own pockets.
These 7 should have gone to people whose money was returned to them in the original sale. Bad form IMOPJ:

how is he flipping, when this is less than/equal to the going price? He's the artist, and he can set whatever price he would like.
As an artist, it's his job to create and sell art. Lining his pockets? Think before you write this garbage.0 -

Nice to see the artist of a PJ poster profiting from his creation instead of someone else.0 -

I know what the market price is pal, but the fact of the matter is that he "oversold" this print and returned people's money. I think is wrong to then sell them a year later for the going rate.
I know artists hold onto prints, but when Klausen does sales he sometimes makes a couple old prints available for their original cost. I feel like thats a much better way to go.
If he was doing something for charity I would have no problem with it. Just my opinion though.PJ:

He's definitely not flipping as it's his OWN artwork. And if my memory serves me correctly he wasn't selling the artist print the last time these posters were being offered through the 10club.
Plain and simple, he made a small run of these posters and oversold them so money was returned to those folks whose order he could not fill. He's not obligated to sell them the artist print just because he ran out of the original run of posters.

Well, thats my mistake then. I was under the impression there wasn't a 10club sale for this poster. Only AP's. Whatever, this makes for a good discussion. HahaPJ:

These were not offered through the 10C to my knowledge, each artist had 100 and that was it. I can't say I'm a fan of the way this is going down, but I'd rather the money go to the actual artists than some 3rd party flipper. Simple economics people, the prints are worth what people will pay, and people will pay the $350+ so that's what he's doing. I don't like it..I'd LOVE to have one of these, but I'm not paying the $400-$500 they will end up going for.95' - 7/9

Really? I could of swore I received a e-mail from the 10club last year when these were being offered but I could be wrong on that.0 -

Assumedly, 10C isn't in a position where they need to "line their own pockets" by selling on Ebay.
An up and coming artist is entitled to sell his/her own extra stash of APs...it's not as if he is extending the size of the regular edition, etc. In most cases, a concert poster artist makes his money on the share of prints he/she is allowed to sell, as opposed to receiving a huge design fee upfront.Post edited by JOEJOEJOE on0 -

They were not offered through 10c. Maxx oversold these prints, not munk.
That being said, i still won't buy from him, even though thats a fair price. Is that just starting price though?United Center-Jun 29 1998 Alpine Valley-Oct 8 2000

50 were held back by each artist to give to friends, the band or whatever. Or to sell later for an inflated price. :roll:United Center-Jun 29 1998 Alpine Valley-Oct 8 2000

As far as I know Munk never oversold, and Maxx242 did use some of his 25 A/Ps to fill at least some of the oversold orders. Hate to see Munk selling on ebay, but it is his right.0

This is true. Munk One has a pretty good cart system. He doesn't oversell. I've never had an issue ordering a print from him.
As far as whether this is considered a "fair" price or not - it's not really relevent. It's what the market dictates. Even if he started the auction at $90, I guarantee these would sell for way over the starting auction price.
What's more important to me is that I would much rather give him (or any other artist) my money than a flipper.Post edited by lotsalemon onMansfield 06.28.2008 | Boston 05.17.2010 | Boston 06.19.2011 EV solo | Wrigley Field 07.19.2013 | Worcester 10.15.2013 | Worcester 10.16.2013 | Hartford 10.25.2013
