  • The American band Pearl Jam, confirming their status as "Argentines adopted" confirmed his third visit in Argentina for the April 4, 2013 in a stadium to be confirmed.
After the historic 2005 shows Western Railway and November 2011 at the Unico de la Plata, the band led by Eddie Vedder, who like his companions have been in love with the local public, confirmed their third visit.
On the website of the band is announced a tour of Latin America that provides concerts in Brazil and Chile, and Argentina, though not confirmed the stadium where the show will be implemented.
Pearl Jam gave two memorable concerts on 25 and 26 November 2005 in the field of Ferro Carril Oeste, and thereby settle a debt with local fans and musicians who influenced the band.
Those gigs showed an excited Eddie Vedder fascinated with the enthusiasm of the fans and guitarist Mike McCready staying on stage with his guitar, challenging the stadium lights lit to indicate the end of the concert.
Band founding of a movement that included bands like Nirvana, Soundgarden, Mudhoney, The Melvins and Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam were released in 1991 with his first album "Ten", which contained the hits "Alive", "Even Flow "and" Jeremy ".
The first members of Pearl Jam guitarist Stone Gossard are and Mike McCready and bassist Jeff Ament, who in 1987 became the star of the U.S. under the band Mother Love Bone, who led the singer Andrew Wood and laid the foundations of grunge.
But Wood died of a heroin overdose in 1990 and the band broke up, but managed to release an album titled, years later, it received wide critical acclaim.
With drummer Dave Krusen, the band recorded a demo which then fell to the drummer of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Jack Irons, who passed it to his friend Eddie Vedder, who lived in San Diego, and he composed letters and recorded voices and forwarded it to Seattle.
McCready, Ament, Gossard and Krusen were surprised by the work of Vedder, a boy who had a powerful voice, though his tone was that of a troubled teenager.
The singer was invited to join the band and moved to Seattle, where he was brewing the move that would put the rock back into the top of the pop music scene putting the synthetic, the boys and rap bands.
Since the name of Pearl Jam set about turning the U.S. West Coast with his rock riffs mixed Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and Neil Young with lyrics depicting the experiences of the new generation of young Americans-the so-called Generation X- no possibility for the future and be halfway new hippies or follow the model of the Wall Street yuppies.
The band, which in 1991 joined drummer Dave Abbruzzese instead of Krusen, forged a philosophy in which anti following the precepts of bands like The Clash, Neil Young himself, always away from the mainstream scene, or Fugazi , which rejected the trade favors the system.
But this philosophy led to Pearl Jam two crises: one in the face of massive success with their debut album "Ten" (1991) and the other for the price of the tickets to take them to an unequal battle with the multinational vendor Ticketmaster locations, which eventually lost out.
"Ten" launched the band to stardom and made the Pearl Jam symbol of a generation with Nirvana, but the fame, the multiple rotation of music-especially "Jeremy" - generated a rejection within the group.
Anger moved to the artistic sphere as in 1993, Pearl Jam released "Vs" his second album with a sound more raw, more punk, with lyrics harder.
The album was almost a rejection of the great attention that the band focused to the point that they decided not to make videos even though MTV and Much Music were hungry for new material from Pearl Jam.
In 1994, with the release of the new album "Vitalogy" Pearl Jam showing moving toward a form of rock near the Crazy Horse Neil Young, Abbruzzese left the group and instead joined Jack Irons, Vedder's friend.
That same year, Vedder and company got a great taste when Neil Young invited them to be his backing band to record the album "Mirror Ball" which appeared in a limited series of shows by the United States.
On April 8, 1994, the rocker scene shook with the suicide of Kurt Cobain, Vedder's friend but detractor at a time of Pearl Jam.
In a show that featured that night, Vedder said, "... do not think it's a good idea to elevate oneself. I think that sometimes it can be very dangerous ... sometimes you like it or not there are people that takes you by itself ... and is very easy to fall later. "
Despite his decision not to keep making music and very few contacts with the press, the albums were selling millions at Pearl Jam as evidenced by CD `s" No Code "(1996) and" Yield "(1998).
In 1998, Irons left the band due to health problems and instead joined Soundgarden drummer Matt Cameron left-hander, a great musician who debuted in the album "Binaural" (2000).
In 2002, Pearl Jam released the excellent "Riot Act" which meant his return to center stage with songs like "I` am mine "and" Love Boat Captain ", which paid homage to the tragedy suffered by nine fans were crushed in a concert that the band played in the Danish town of Roskilde in 2000.

Hasn't Tim (or maybe it was Kelly Curtis?) already that that there will be shows in the US in 2013?

I would expect to see at least 10-15 US shows and that could happen any time between June and September given this news. I don't see any reason to panic about no US shows given this announcement.

 I'm not worried, they won't tour through my neck of the woods anyway! Good ol' hateable Texas.

There will be US shows, they will just be late summer/fall, centered around festival dates, and at the usual 10 or so US cities... my comment about it not boding well for the US is just in reference to people griping about touring South America twice since the last time they played the northeast....
