I'm staying at Hotel Indigo. It's 16 blocks away from the park and 1 block away from the Marta lines. I got locked in at a flex rate that is pretty good.

I should probably mention my flex rate is at $165/night

I bid on Priceline a three star for $85 and got the Residence Inn by Marriot, two blocks from the park. After fees and everything it was $205 for both nights.

Regency Suites is $169/night + tax. All rooms come with pullout couch, kitchenette and free wi-fi

Still not sure if I'm going, but can't hurt to have a place to sleep just in case!

Just did the bid your own price through priceline for downtown, three stars, $80 a night and got:

    Atlanta Marriott Marquis

    http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/a ... t-marquis/

Total after fees for the weekend: $194.00 - not to freakin bad for a 4 star hotel.

Anyone know the address for the festival? I'm trying to figure out how close it is to the hotel.

Hotel is regularly $200 a night!

    Hey Roger,

On the site, it says the "main gate" for the festival is 10th Street and Charles Allen Drive. I think if you put that in with "Atlanta", Google Maps will be smart enough to map it for you, you don't need the actual street address.

    So the 90% is now a 100%!

Thanks Suziemay! According to mapquest, I'm a little over two miles away. Not too bad. And yes, now I'm completely in. I have a cousin that is flying up from Ft. Lauderdale and we're just waiting to see if our other cousin from Baltimore is going to come or not - then we can buy our festival tickets. Have you made your decision?

Also try Residence Inn Midtown/Historic (not 17th Street). I think it's currently full, but I pulled up a room at different times yesterday for $119/night + tax. No penalty to cancel until 4pm day of arrival. Not sure how much more awful it is than the Residence Inn Midtown/17th street because that one is $269/night but seems like a really good deal to me! :) So keep checking!

I saw that if you book Thursday-Sunday, it's $119. So weird that they jack up the rate for just 2 nights. Who knows how these things work :)

So, seems like either would work if you can find that $119 rate! I think all rooms have a pull-out sofa and a kitchenette.

~I found some rooms in Days Inn Atlanta, Deluxe Double Bed Private (two double beds in one room), for 2 nights (sept 21-22) the total is u$189, since I'm supossed to pay for the two beds. I think it's a nice deal if you want to share the room.
I'll keep looking for some hostel =) and certainly looking forward for some new dates to be added!

$165 per night for the Courtyard Midtown/GA Tech, 1.8 miles/28 min walk from main gate (or 7 min cab ride). Seems to only be a few blocks from some bars/restaurants too.
