  • Yes, some more than others, but they should be significantly more quiet than an older Lp. I try and clean my new records before I play them because there may be dust and artifacts from the manufacturing process on the surface. :D
  • I believe you can also bathe your records in water, but don't quote me on that.

Cleaning is a good idea but don't do it often.

Also doesn't hurt to check the needle...Make sure it doesn't have any lint on it etc..

The clicking and pops are down to static and dirt.
I would ot bath them in water though.
If they are new it is just static from being in a paper sleeve. Some records come in anti static bags which I think all records should come in.
Just get an anti static brush and it will help.

Learn to LOVE that sound... It's part of the vinyl experience.

You should change the stylus after so many hrs of use apparently as the needle wears it makes the groove deeper in the vinyl and causes the crackle, well that's what I was told back in the day :)

Puts more wear on the vinyl.

Puts more wear on the vinyl.

It shouldn't. Much better to clean it than play a dirty records and really mash the crud into the grooves.

Ehhhh.... Yes. But, you still don't need to clean them that often unless you are really bad at handling and storing your vinyl.
