I met Cornell today and asked about PJ

Hey,

So I was lucky enough to attend the Chris Cornell in-store today in Jersey. He showed up 50 minutes late with his wife, but once there he was the nicest guy. Really took his time with each fan signing the new album and posing for a picture. I would guess about 400 fans.

I told him how I attended his show last week in Connecticut and he then signed my cd "Thanx" along with his signature. I asked him if we would be seeing a Soundgarden tour with Pearl Jam, and he smiled responding "You never know". So I'm holding out hope! haha.

They were very strict in saying Chris would only sign the cd, but my friend brought his guitar pick and asked him if they could trade (hoping that Chris had a pick on him), but Chris just said that his guitar picks are nothing fancy nor customized, just the standard dunlop picks. He then signed my buddy's guitar pick along with the CD.

Great time, and seemed like a really good guy!

Instore Signing
Saturday, November 26th
3:30PM
Pre-order or purchase the new Chris Cornell "Songbook" CD, LP , or the Soundgarden "Before the Doors" LP at Vintage Vinyl Records to get your wristband! You must be wearing the wristband for admittance to the event.

Pre-ordering can only be done at the physical location; no internet or phone orders will be accepted. The number of people that will admitted is limited so we encourage pre-orders.

Chris will be signing only ONE of the three titles listed above per person. Please DO NOT bring any other items to be signed. Customers bringing other items will be ejected from the line.

Perhaps they come out and jam together.

A few SG songs, a bunch of PJ songs, a little Temple of the Dog thrown in...

32 song set... Doable for Matt...

If they ever even thought about it, they'd need a 3rd band to play in between, just to give him a rest.

I guess Temple of the Dog wouldn't count as a third band?

Maybe they could have an inbetween acoustic set, at the very least, Matt would be able to take a break or go easy while we hear some acoustic Soundgarden/Pearl Jam/EV/CC/etc.

    Was there yesterday as well.

Got him to sign the record store day vinyl of Songbook. Asked him to add "Im still going hungry!" And he added it before his autograph.

Got a picture with him too.

    Great instore.

Would have loved to try to have gotten a auto on a baseball which I had in my pocket, but security was pretty strict, and a baseball is pretty noticable.... I collect celebrity signed baseballs btw.

There's no way Matt could play two full sets for a whole tour. Drumming just for the PJ set has to be exhausting. That being said, there are tons of drummers to sit in with Soundgarden.

I would see multiple shows if this happens! :D:D:D

Does he moonlight as a baseball player? how would he see the ball with all that hair?!

I have a big collection of celebrity signed baseballs. My ideal baseball for music is band signed baseballs, makes it like a team signed ball. Got all 6 Ramones on a basrball at a NYC instore.

  • This guy did a good job on drums playing SG and Audioslave songs during Cornell’s tour with a backing band a few years ago.
Maybe he could fill in for Cameron with SG.
