    Holy shitski!!! :o Dude go, just go!! Get on ebookers now & look for flights to Chicago tomorrow morning! Either book hotel in Chicago & get shuttle or camp in that PJ camp site... Tix still available, you'll even get them over there... All last minute but definitely possible... 8-)

    Honestly, if it will be a problem to pay for it later then don't do it. Its just a concert. Don't put yourself under financial strain and possible marriage problems for it and f*ck knows the Irish economy isn't anything to be counted on right now. Pearl Jam will be back in Europe again.

    Listen to this guy! It's just a concert, you can buy the bootleg and listen. Concerts are a luxury, you need to think of your family.

    Al, if you're gonna stay in Chicago in the spare bed Appie has you'll need Chicago shuttle pass for each day from the goods section and you need to get esta visa waiver completed online

    Bugger... the visa waiver - that takes time to come through. Do you have to do it every time you go to the US or once you do it, it's valid for a while?

    Though Al... if you had it last time you went to the US, might still be good?

    Applications may be submitted at any time prior to travel to the United States. The Department of Homeland Security recommends that travel authorization applications be submitted at least 72 hours prior to travel.

    He probably already has one if he's been in the last 12 months, but mine took about 5 minutes to be authorised online.

    Firstly thanks all for all the help (and reality checks haha!!).

    Latest state of play is as follows:

    BA flights out tomorrow back on tue are ready to be booked;
    Can't get in touch with my boss to see about getting the time off - which is basically holding up everything;
    Internet is not working in the office so my bro is doing it all for me;
    I was in the US in jan so I think the visa issue is ok but better check it out;
    The kids will be fine on bread and water and no shoes for a few weeks :lol: just kidding but I have battled with myself about the whole 'this is stupid' argument;
    Appie thanks so much for the offer, I'll probably take you up on it if I get there - can u let me know the cost of the room please!;
    I'll have to pick up shuttle bus tickets - if I get the ok from the boss;
    I reckon I'll worry about tickets when I get there!

    Think that pretty much sums it up...I just need the boss to get back to me!

    Thanks again all for tour help...this is fucking crazy!!!!!!!
