I was driving into work today listening to The Beatles and was thinking about how much I LOVE John Lennon and how much I miss him. I was thinking about how much more he could have done musically if he was still here. I still get angry when I think about that day...I can't believe it was 30yrs. ago! So I was thinking of my favorite singers of all time and here they are...
1-Eddie Vedder
2-John Lennon
3-Robin Zander
4-Bono
5-Bruce Springstein
6-Chris Cornell
7-Ann Wilson

I'm sure there's more...what are yours?

I know how you feel. I still wish he was here making music and trying to help the world. Although I'm 18 now, about to be 19 in a couple of weeks, Lennon is my all time favorite singer.

    1. John Lennon
    2. Michael Jackson
    3. Eddie Vedder
    4. Bono
    5. Robert Plant

There's probably more, but those came to mind immediately. Michael beats Eddie by an eyelash for me.

    Good post!

The obvious one is first on the list, no particular order apart from that:

    Eddie Vedder
    Chris Cornell
    Layne Staley
    Jim Morrison
    John McCreak
    Warren Haynes
    Mike Patton
    Freddie Mercury

I'm sure I'm forgetting a lot of guys (and gals)...

Eddie Vedder is a great performer, PJ is in my top Ten of all time because of the composite of its members. EV doesn't make my greatest singer lists. He does make my greatest intensity as a front man list, singer? I don't think so...I am one of the over 40 dinosaurs so consider the source of the blasphemy of my statement.

I'm gonna base my favorite singers on:
a: music I like (because there are singers that I like, but their music I don't)
b: based on their singing abilities, not their writing abilities

    1: Jeff Buckley
    2: Thom Yorke
    3: Ed Ved

(I'll have to add singers as I think of them)
ADD 5,200 to the post count you see, thank you. :)

Depends on the day or the mood, but I love the voice of John Bell from Widespread Panic.

And in my daydreams I sound just like Lucinda Williams when I sing. So good.
