How well did that work for them last season?

I don't expect them to get to the Super Bowl (let alone win it) this season with the current state of the defense.

But its fun to extend the season, and ride out the playoff waves. Post season football is my favorite thing on TV all year.

And hey, who knows, Brady's offense might have just enough fire power to carry them deep into the post-season, despite their defense.

I miss having Peyton in the mix though. (Not a colts fan, but I love a good game)

They're the best team in the AFC, a banged up Roethlisberger should give the Patriots the advantage in that game. The Patriots can definetly outscore the Ravens in a shootout, they have the most overrated defense in the game. No one else I'm concerned about.

    On a side note:

    31st defense: GB
    32nd defense: NE

    combined record? 24-4
I will be what i could be

I can't argue with you there.

As much as I love the Patriots being the #1 seed isn't all that it's made out to be it helps. However to me it's how well your team is playing whether they're best on the defensive side or dominant on offense.

I hope things fall into place, it's time that it does. Smiling

Both #1 seeds from last season dropped an egg in their first play-off game....wild card seems to be the way to go nowadays.

Only way they'll win a playoff game is if Belichick has found a new way to cheat. I don't think they've won one since he was caught the first time.

while i love the sentiment that's not an entirely true argument that Patriot-haters such as myself often throw out there. They DID beat a David Garrard led Jaguars team 30-21, and then San Diego 21-12 to get to the Super Bowl. Since then, however, it has been 17-14 Giants, no playoffs with the easiest schedule in football, 33-14 Ravens, and 28-21 Jets. I think they were allowed to cheat all the way up until the Super Bowl, and since then only in the regular season.
