Chris C. tribute tonight at Rock on the Range

For those that didn't know, Soundgarden was the headliner tonight for the opening night of the Rock on the Range festival here in Columbus, OH, what would have been the band's next show.

As I'm sure the promoters are still scrambling, all we have been told thus far is "Please join us immediately after Live's performance for a special tribute to Chris Cornell".  I have no idea what that means, I'm guessing other artists in town paying their respects, playing SG songs, telling stories, etc.

I initially wasn't going to go because I couldn't be bothered with the "festival scene" and you had to buy a full 3-day pass even if you only wanted to go to one day.  I'm now feeling like I need to be there, if for no other reason, than some personal closure I guess. Like going to a funeral and seeing the body, seeing that empty stage tonight will make it real, and it's going to hurt.

I'm going to buy a ticket and head down after work on my own. If there is anyone else going that want's to meet up, raise a glass, etc. please reach out.

    I wouldn't be surprised if Eddie K played an acoustic set of Cornell songs.

    What a spot for him/Live to be thrown into.  They just reconciled and got the original line up back together, and now have the hard task of playing a set right before what would have been Soundgarden's slot. I'm sure he will be involved in this tribute in some way.

    Not to be the bearer of bad news, but they never sold single day tickets. 3 day passes sold out the weekend and so they decided to give everyone one wristband good for the entire weekend.

    I know they didn't, that's why I never bought a pass originally, sorry my wording was a bit ambiguous. Now I can grab a pass for $65 on stub-hub.
