I haven't seen a thread on this show so I figured I'd start one. If any of you daily show fans haven't seen it, it's great. It's on HBO, but they post them on youtube as well.

Here's the bulk of this week's show. Some great stuff on how much food we waste.

I thought late night television was becoming safe, especially with the departures of Stewart and Letterman, but then I started watching John Oliver. Ah, yes! We are in good hands. The man and his writing staff are brilliant. Brilliant! C'mon, he interviewed Edward Snowden. That's a must see episode. Of course, Mr. Oliver won me over as a correspondent on The Daily Show. His three part series from Australia dealing with gun control is genius.0

I love this show. I just recently canceled HBO, so I'm stuck to the youtube clips until I get a chance to catch it at someone's house with HBO on demand haha.
The writing style is very good, with incorporating jokes that keep you interested into such serious topics that are really important in the present day. This show really was able to expand the genre and not become "The Daily Show 2", which is really the best part. I think he is contracted through season 4 if I remember correctly.
The food waste segment was a real eye opener, as are all of his segments really. I think the stadiums segment might actually get a response in the form of a city government standing up to those billionaires.2003: 7/14 NJ ... 2006: 6/1 NJ, 6/3 NJ ... 2007: 8/5 IL ... 2008: 6/24 NY, 6/25 NY, 8/7 EV NJ ... 2009: 10/27 PA, 10/28 PA, 10/30 PA, 10/31 PA

You never really had to begin with.
Sometimes it's not the song that makes you emotional it's the people and things that come to your mind when you hear it.0 -
My favorite was the political ad in one of the first couple episodes. I won't post it here due to the old man genitals. I laughed to tears.northerndragon said:This is one of my favorites.

Watching it right now on HBO Now. Last week hit the nail on the head about sex ed. I especially love Jonathan Banks' cameo at the end.
I love this one moment from earlier this year.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CikxgZCGgnI

We love it too. I like how he talks about world events, not just stuff in the US.0

I really enjoyed the Televangelist episode, probably more than I should have.
It really reminded me of Colbert's SuperPac, pointing out the craziness of the system by actually participating. Of course, I sent in my donation this morning with a letter

Here you go! Dignin posted it already over in one of the 76 Trump threads. I completely forgot I started this thread last year. I can't believe this guy doesn't get more love around here.gimmesometruth27 said:#makedonalddrumpfagain

Eddie Vedder mentioned on John Oliver this week. Doing a story on the Weather Service and AccuWeather. Basically the head of AccuWeather claimed because Live Nation uses their service they got everyone off the field and saved Eddie Vedder's life. first mention at 5:40 below and some mocking of his singing a bit. was kind of funny
