  • I usually don't like music with death vocals but Opeth is different coz the dark vocals give such a nice contrast to the softer parts and make the songs more intense. It's not just constant growling, which can get boring after a while.

Saw them live a while ago and they sounded excellent. Wouldn't say they are the best or compare them with PJ both are great in what they're doing. Good music can be done in so many different ways but from progressive metal bands i've began liking Opeth more than Tool or Dredg.

Thought that seeing NIN play Hurt live would be the best live experience of the year for me but Demon of the fall really blew me away.

You're right, i think all those bands are great at what they do, NIN has been one of my best live experiences, especially Hurt, of course not as good as pearl jam live...

Well it was pretty intense. They are pretty popular here sold out 3 nights in a row and their album was in the top10 for a while so they had no problem getting the crowd going.

The sound really sucks in that link but

    Definitely one of their best!

The Leper Affinity, Bleak, HArvest, The Drapery Falls, Dirge for November, The funeral Portrair, Patterns in the Ivy, Blackwater Park

it doesn't get much better than that!! especially Bleak, and The Drapery Falls, two of my favorites.

the part where mikael shares vocals with Steve Wilson is unbelievable!! (bleak)
