Live or Album

What Songs do you like live exponentially better than on the Album? And what songs get you on the album more so than live?

Nothing compares to a live Smile, 1/2 full and wishlist.

But there is something to be said for the studio versions of courdury.

IN My Tree live... is better...

So that is how I learned the lesson that everyone is alone. And your eyes must do some raining if you are ever going to grow. But when crying don't help and you can't compose yourself. It is best to compose a poem, an honest longing or simple song of hope.
    That is why I'm singing

It is a unique love for every song and every version of the song , doesn't matter live or studio , if you like the song you like the song ... of course at one time you'd like to hear some version of that song many times more than the other version of it but after awhile you'll get back to the version you put to rest sooo ...

    hey,

i feel that the songs they have written most recently are the songs that they perform with the most passion at any one point in time.....

take live at the garden....... love boat captain and particularly save you COMPLETELY blew me away, as did crop duster (i thought matt cameron was gonna burst a major blood vessel)

although i was also impressed with how much care and passion black was performed, considering the hundreds/thousands of times they have done it live......

It all depends on the day, but "I got shit" is one that really sticks out that I like live allot. And the jam session on RVM kicks a littl tail too.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I haven't heard a really good live performance of Breath. I love the studio version. I think Do The Evolution is more energetic live.

1/2 Full live is awesome.. I also like Long Road live, any version
Down the street you can hear her scream youre a disgrace
As she slams the door in his drunken face
    And now he stands outside
And all the neighbours start to gossip and drool
He cries oh, girl you must be mad,
What happened to the sweet love you and me had?
Against the door he leans and starts a scene,
And his tears fall and burn the garden green

I do think that most of their songs sound better live. It just feels like that's the way the music is meant to be heard.
Some of the best sounding live songs to me:

Not for You, Long Road, Alive, Betterman, Save You

I particularly like any song live that you can really hear the crowd singing along. To me there's nothing better than singing Pearl Jam songs with a few thousand Pearl Jam fanatics.
I'll ride the wave where it takes me

I'll hold the pain, RELEASE ME!

    Black, on East Troy 10.8.2000

    Even Flow on Seattle 11.6.2000

Hail Hail on Seattle 11.6.2000 ("I don't wanna fuck, I wanna feeeel")

    Long Road, Mansfield (Boston) 7.11.2003

Betterman on Vitalogy, because it has that beautiful, quiet buildup without any background noise and his voice is AMAYYYYZING

Indifference on Vs. just because he breaks my heart when I hear it

I actually like Not For You in ANY form. That song would kick ass even if he recorded it in the shower.

Amen to In My Tree...this was a song I never gave much of a chance until I heard it live. Totally changed my perspective. now it's one of my all time favorites.

State of Love & Trust is waaaaaaaaaay better outta the studio.

I read what I wrote and it didn't sound right. The studio version of SOLAT is better - that's what I literally meant.

I think Crazy Mary, corduroy, Black is better in the studio. Although if the band is truley on top of their game that night any song would truley kick ass

I think most definitely Even flow is way better live than on album..actually thinking about it, the more enegetic songs tend to sound that much better than on record...most probably the atmosphere of the concert that does it
