I can't stop listening to this band's debut record, so I decided they should have a thread dedicated to them.

Anyone else listening to this thing like it's affixed to your turntable, or is that just me?

I did mention them in the suggest a new band thread, but they deserve their own thread
Chaise Lounge is fantastic. Still need to get their album though.

In their latest video for "Ur Mom" you can see a RHCP, Nirvana, PJ poster in the background at about the 2:03 mark

  • I must be getting too old. I couldn’t get through the two songs I tried. But I can see why ppl might enjoy it.

The Edge-esque guitar effects and the out-of-nowhere seismic shredding solos keep me coming back. I also love the attitude in the lyrics and deadpan vocal deliveries.

The album is great.  Just so much fun -  a breeze to listen to.    Not sure if they can sustain this for a career but, for now at least, they’re pretty much the hottest new band in the UK since Arctic Monkeys.

Oh and I’m seeing them in a 600 capacity venue next week, with a ticket that has a face value of £10.    🤯

    Piss off, dude!

I missed my chance for that kind of intimate show. Their album wasn't even out yet when they played Boston, and I'm too old to know who's hot on TikTok or whatever. So, alas, I did not go.

I think when they return to the states proper, they'll either be opening for someone at arenas or headlining large clubs/small theatres. Maybe both.

They were recently at Brooklyn Steel. And apparently late last year before they blew up they were at the Mercury Lounge, right around the corner from me.

Mercury Lounge would have been great to see them in.  Holds like 200 people.

My favorite venue. Sound just envelops you there. Musicians know it, too. I’ve seen some pretty amazing stuff in that room.

It is a great venue. I have seen tons of bands there. They are also really good to local unknowns as well. Many of my friends have played there in the past.

Given that you’re posting in a Pearl Jam forum, I really hope there’s a healthy dose of knowing irony behind this comment 😉

I will check them out. I have very similar distaste in music as the above gang of posters.

Maybe a trip to Montreal on my future.

Edit: Never mind. I see that Osheaga is not a venue but rather a festival.

A Tipitina’s show would be awesome! But I ain’t spending money in Louisiana. New Orleans should secede.

So good when I saw them last night.  Playing live they lose a lot of the poppy sheen that the record has, and the songs sound all the better for it.  Way more raucous and punky.   Only an hour long set obviously but they played pretty much the entire album and looked like they were having just as much fun as the audience.
