August 27 will be the 15th year anniv of "Ten" being released. This happens to be the show at the Reading Festival. How nice would it be if the band played the entire album during the show?
Metallica recently toured in Europe and they supported the 20th anniv of "Master of Puppets" and have played the entire album at several shows. Here is my ideal set-list if they did:

Life Wasted
WWS
Severed Hand
Corduroy
Dissident
Marker
* Ed makes a speech about Ten
Once
Even Flow
Alive
Why Go
Black
Jeremy
Oceans
Porch
Deep
Garden
Release

Spin The Black
Leash
Comatose
Fuckin Up
Ledbetter

You'd want them to play STBC & Comatose in the same encore? Why not just have them play a seven minute version of STBC and Ed can sing both songs to the same music? That's all they are anyway.

And if you want a Ten show, you should find a way to work in Wash, Dirty Frank, Brother, and Alone. That'd make for a fine evening.

Here is a portion of Ed's speech:

"Hello, Hello. Well, um, I don't know if you know, but today is a special day. For us, and possibly for you. 15 years ago today, there was this thing, um, that changed all of our lives. It's amazing to think back and realize where we are today, I don't think anyone of us up here could imagine. But, we thought to reflect on those times, we would play the thing from start to finish."

    .

Dirty Frank (and Wash) would HAVE TO be played: the european version of the album (since very early on if not from the start) has both on it; playing in europe they'd have to include them ;) (sooo want to hear Dirty Frank! as you can tell)

But it's a great idea..especailly on a festival gig where a good part of the audience won't know anything behind that album..

you forget to add that ed takes a swing of wine at the end of the speech
Ron: I just don't feel like going out tonight
    Sammi: Wanna just break up?

I have the bootleg download from Metallica's show in Nurburgring, Germany. I love how they played the entire album from start to finish. It was the inspiration for this thread.

doubt it would happen, didnt Ed say recently that TEN is the only album he cant listen to??

by the way i think Pearl Jam have once performed all of the first album in order at a particular show back in the day?? Ed noted after Jeremy, that it was time to flip the record or something? would be weird to see a show closing with Release!

and to add to that setlist, you should definitely add Master/Slave to be played into Once.

I think they did play "Ten" in it's entirety, but not in order. Believe it was back in 92 or so. They could open with "master/slave" as the intro prior to "Release".

I'm putting together a cd from the 06 tour of the songs from "Ten" live, we got everything except "Deep", had to reach back to 03 for that version.

They did play "Ten" in order. This is the info from the video I have of that show:

    3-13-92. Aud 90 Sound:B+ Vid:B
    Nachtwerk, Munich, Germany
Once; Evenflow; Alive; Why Go; Black; Jeremy; Oceans; Porch; Garden; Deep; Release; Leash; Outshined; State of Love and Trust; Rockin' in the Free World; I've Got a Feeling

Obviously they left off Alone, Dirty Frank, etc. but they did get I've Got a Feeling in.
