ISO iPod classic

Yes, you read that right, I’m looking for an ipod classic. I had a 7th gen (I think) 120gb ipod classic that I kept in my car that stored all of my music for many years.

Today, someone stole it out of my car at work, along with my hospital ID, some pens, and my winter hat. Pretty awesome, eh?

I have all the music on my computer, but I’m now stuck looking for a new ipod to leave in my car. If you have one you don’t use, I’d love to buy it. They’re on ebay but quality seems so hit or miss. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Sorry you had yours stolen 😖 I feel your frustration with eBay. I had to buy two different ones before I got one that worked. But I’ve had it for 4 years and it’s been used like crazy.  Still works great.  Good luck with your search!

I finally stopped using mine for many things but still have it for when I figure out how to address the battery issues.  Still is my jukebox for the Pool in summer time.
Good luck finding....I know everything is cloud based now but nothing beats the 160gb one that I have.  (When it works)

I have a 120gb classic. Can”t remember what Generation, but i’ll include some photos. I just need to find a cord to make sure battery is good. Last used it about 6 months ago before i upgraded my car which had apple play and now use my iphone with and it worked fine then.

If interested, shoot me a PM. In the meantime, i’ll look for the cord.

I have maybe 5 of these in various sizes.  I'm sure I could let one go if you still need one.  I'll check when I get home on the storage size.

I had the same thing happen to me. Stole my IPOD classic from my car. I bought another 160 GB from eBay, but I had loading issues from ITunes and a loose connection port. Be sure the connection is good or it will cut out in the car which is really annoying.

I am currently changing out the battery in my old 160gig classic. Original battery wasn't holding a charge anymore, so thought I'd try replacing it. Good luck with your search.

I did it for my iPod Classic, like the original first one from 2001 and I got another couple years out of it. It was also super difficult to change out, the little green tools they gave me to separate the iPod were like chef level sharp. Once I got it open, swapping the battery was easy. You have to be careful closing up the seal when you’re done.

  • I'm still using my old 2005 5th Gen. Swapped the battery once. Easy peasy.

i have an 80G that I loved but the battery is dead and of course apple no longer supports it. thought about buying a battery and trying that, but I'm very unhandy so don't know if I should bother.
    Darwinspeed, all.

    Cheers,

Maybe the models after the OG click wheel one were easier to open. Seriously tough for me & I’ve successfully done some tech-y stuff in my later years. I ended up buying a newer touch screen Nano about 3 years ago and it’s 20 GB. Only use it for PJ stuff.

Had this happen to me 5 years ago.  Luckily I found one on ebay for a good deal. Original owner had it engraved when he ordered it. So I have some dude's name on the back of my ipod. But I couldn't pass up a 120gb for $75.  Good luck!

He'll also update your existing iPod with a new battery and SDXC or SSD memory (up to 2TB for the ALAC fans). I bought one from him a few years back and it still works like a champ.
