Teacher Appreciation Day 2020
News

Eddie spoke for all of us at Team PJ when he talked about the important role of teachers at this Seattle show on August 8, 2018. Now more than ever, we are grateful for the work that teachers do.

We hope you’ll enjoy this performance and also take a moment to thank a teacher in your life.

    You're welcome!

Also, thanks to the non-formal 'teachers' here, too! I learn from each of you.

Edit: Thanks for the post! I read about this show and the two honoured teachers. It was nice to hear the song.

Hopefully more people will be more aware about just how much we do. It's crushing when people say, "Well, you get summers off!" Anyone who is or ever was a teacher knows how much a good teacher gives of themselves and how much we strive to teach the kids the standards and also how to be conscious and kind human beings. Thank you for this post.

Being a teacher this warms my heart! 20 years in the job and still going strong. Currently teaching my 20 5th and 6th graders here in Australia from my home and they’re all learning from their homes too. Thank goodness for modern technology! It’s been a steep learning curve but we’ve made it fun and haven’t wasted a lesson. To quote Ed ‘there’s much to be done...’

I’m a grade three teacher and I was at that show. I got chills hearing ed talk about teachers and it was a very special moment. Very nice to see that vid. Haha probably as close as I’ll ever get to a song dedication at a show. Once again, a class act.

Teacher, turned assistant principal, turned principal here.  I was at that show with my wife (teacher -- at my school, we were married well before I was principal so it's not too weird).  I have an enormous appreciation for the work teachers do.  The folks I work with are crushing distance learning going above and beyond.  Not only do my wife and I work at the same school but my three kids also attend our school.  Feeling very fortunate this week celebrating my teachers.  They are amazing human beings!

I’m just finishing my first year teaching, Kindergarten in a Philadelphia public school. It’s been a wild ride but I’m happy I stuck it out.

I am a college professor. Does that count as being a teacher? I am not sure it is looked at as being the same thing. I am an educator, I know it is a bit different from being a school  teacher. Thoughts?

I’d say it counts.  You just teach older kids.

17 for me and I love it too! Of course some days are more challenging than others, but that comes with any job.

That was good to listen to. I liked what he said about DeVos. I feel the same way about principals and superintendents who have not had a lot of in-class experience. You understand and see things differently if you've been in front of the the class for many years. Thanks for sharing that.

When i read this thread title I thought it read "Teacher Apprehension Day."  I guess that slip by me is a sign of the times.

I love that he was able to get his point across without having to scream or rant and rave like a wild man. Calm cool but decisive. Well done

My wife is a High School Special Education teacher. Tough job, but she loves her students, well most of them, and is a fierce advocate for them.
