OHANA 2021 HOTEL THREAD

Seems as if none of the local hotels are taking bookings yet.

I will check from time to time and add information when bookings open up.

That will be a bit odd since I assumed I'd be on your floor!

I called the Best Western across the street and was able to book for the weekend. But they aren't taking bookings online yet.

Thanks for the tip....I was quoted $399/night, or $359 with AAA discount.

Yeah that's what they gave me too. Hotel is perfect location, right across the street from the festival grounds. Not much else around there in terms of nightlife though, a few bars. Stayed in San Clemente one year and took the shuttle, substantially cheaper.

I’ve done the San Clemente shuttle plan a couple of times.  It’s not bad.

Thanks for the tip!  Locked down the Best Western in San Clemente, the guy chuckled at the end of the call when he said "have a good 2020, see you in 2021!"

I stayed at Marina Inn last year at half that price. Only benefit is walking but I know a free parking spot anyway. Staying in SC this year

that's crazy...there are VRBO better than that....

There are!  But having stayed in SC one year, San Juan Capistrano one year, and at a buddy's place a 10 minute walk from the festival one year, I have to say that last year the Best Western across the street was hands down the best. Could hear the music from the pool, easy walk, and no need for a car. So might cost more but a lot lot less hassle. Marina Inn would be fine too, and it has the benefit of being next to Turk's if you want some real local entertainment (recommended).

I stayed at Marina Inn...only benefit is if you sit on beach outside festival, you can go back and forth....did that last year on Sunday

Which Best Western was it, the "Best Western Plus Dana Point Inn-by-the-Sea" or the "Best Western Plus Marina Shores Hotel"?  I'm guessing the Marina Shores location. Thanks!

Just reserved the Best Western Plus Marina Shores Hotel (closer to festival) and price went up to $409 per night (I actually booked the suite with the extra bed for $429 since I think we are bringing the kids).  Now the countdown begins!

In 2018 probably about half an hour but the line moved and you could sorta chat with folks in line as everyone was in good spirits after the show.  In 2019 it was shorter, but I might have got a bit of a head start when RFW started up. I heard the Friday night in 19 was a bit of a mess.  I didn’t go that night.

Marina Shores is the Best Western closest to the fest. Sorry for the late response.

If you have Marriott points... THAT is the place to stay.  Long day jamming to music and then hopping in a hot tub after the show, doesnt get any better than that...until you go to book the next year, dont have points, and realize just how damn expensive the place is!
