Definitely would like to see them mix it up some more. Rockin' and Baba have been played sooooo many times now. Covers should be more meaningful, more special occurrences.

Now that EV is channeling David Byrne, I'd like to see what they could do with a Talking Heads song..  I think they could do a really interesting cover of This Must Be The Place.
This! I think he could do a great acoustic cover of it.

Soundgarden would be awesome, although even Chris struggled with some of it as he got older.

Jeff Buckley Eternal Life would be amazing. He was good friends with Cornell too!
  • I’m usually not a fan of covers.  But my second favorite band of all time is Rush.  I would love for them to cover one of Rush’s songs in memory of Neil Peart.  The Canada shows would be most appropriate.  Although I will be in St. Louis so performing a cover of a Rush song there would be incredible for me.

Seasons.  Ed did it at a solo show this summer but I feel like that would be too much for the band.

I am open for any new songs that I haven't heard them play.
Personally, I love hearing Comfortably Numb and Surrender.

I also agree with the above statements that RITFW and Baba...even though I love them, could sit this tour out.

I know that The Foos cover Tom Sawyer, but that would be cool...

No new covers.  They have a large enough repertoire of original songs.

I would love to hear them cover The Band's The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down, I think Eddie could really kill that vocal!

Pretty sure Eddie would never sing a song of about a southerner during the Civil War.

I wish they would stop with all the covers. Sometimes the 2nd encore is almost all covers. They have WAY to many of their own songs to play, there is no need. I would rather hear PJ songs.

I had this debate in my head today. If Ed played Mankind at a solo show, would that be considered a cover?

  • RITFW needs to slow it’s ass down to. 2-3 stops along the tour  it’s gotten to be a lazy encore slot filler. Aren’t they getting as bored of playing it as I am of hearing it?
  • Man, I was just thinking about this today. I was playing Sandinista! today. I would love to hear PJ cover The Magnificent Seven. Kinda feel like it vibes with DotC too.

but dump the Pink Floyd covers. Even the Daughter tag.
Love this idea.Straight to Hell would be an interesting cover too. More Clash covers please!

Cinnamon Girl would sound good with Stone driving the riff.

  • They should definitely cover Safe in the Car by Jeff Ament. I'd like to hear a Brad tune as well, maybe Rush Hour. In the end, I'm thrilled for whatever they decide to interject into the flow of the set.

I don't mind covers but I think it's time to switch things up.  We've gotten enough Rockin in the Free World and Imagine over the last 15 years to last a lifetime.  Baba is my favorite song of all-time so it gets a pass; I'll take it any day.  I've always wanted them to bring back Split Enz "I Got You" but that appears to be wishful thinking.  I don't really care what they do - they always do covers well - but it's time for some new blood.

I think This Must Be The Place would be a rad cover.
  • No covers.  They played 6 out 29 songs in Missoula that were covers.  Seattle 2, 8 out of 36.  It seems lazy as fuck to churn them out in that quantity lately with such a catalog.
