I was originally thinking we would fly to Vegas for a few days after the shows but I've never been there either so it seems like we should explore the area.

I just figured Oakland would be less hassle.  We aren't too far from the arena but probably don't want to walk there :)

My wife and are I making the trip down from Seattle. Our friend who lives nearby in Castro Valley is out of the country for a few weeks, so she is letting us stay at her house.

Booked Radisson Airport also - agree probably won't walk to walk there but it's really close and it looks like the only better option is SF, in which case its more expensive and have to take BART.  If anyone knows of any other reasonable options closer please chime in.  Thanks

Put in for both nights. You can always stay in Dublin or Pleasanton and take the BART right to the arena. Then you don’t have to worry about traffic in the city and parking. Hopefully I will be there with everyone. 4/20 the next day in San Fran is epic too. Going to be a great long weekend.

Bart is pretty easy, we ended up at the Marriott City Center and we’re just going to take it to the arena.

The Jack London Waterfront hotel in Oakland is a nice one with walkable bars and eating places. I'd go to Heinhold's Last Chance for a fun drinking experience. There's also the Elbo Room. Forge has a good beer selection and wood-fired pizzas. Their fried cheese curds are a thing of beauty. These are all walkable, but there are plenty of other places around there that would be a short Lyft ride. Drexl is a great cocktail bar and is close to a tiki bar called Kon Tiki. I can go on and on about recommendations. If you are a beer lover and have a rental car, you should consider driving up to Santa Rosa to taste the much revered Pliny the Elder straight from the tap at Russian River Brewery in Santa Rosa. Also, plenty of wine tasting up in that area.
I try to stay out of SF as much as possible, but when I do go I make sure to hit up Smuggler's Cove for the best tropical libations. Go to Whitechapel, which is a gin lover's palace. Both of these places have interiors that will make you get out your camera.

Yeah, the other cool thing about the Waterfront is that it is right by the ferry. You can take that right over to the SF Ferry building. The place ain't cheap, at least by my standards, but it would be worth staying there if you're flying all the way over here.

I never stay in San Fran. Prices are too high usually. My wife and I ride the BART everywhere. Hit some dispensaries and walk stoned around the city exploring. Went to 420 in San Fran last year. A lot of fun and the dispensaries usually have deals and consumption lounges are serving dabs and bong hits. It’s a great time every time. Plus hit Amoeba in San Fran for your vinyl needs. Right next to hippy hill where all the festivities take place. That’s a great weekend. 2 pj shows and 420 in San Fran. Can’t fucking wait!!!

Are you going to ride the BART to the show? Do they have extended hours for events like this? I guess I get concerned that it shuts down at around midnight. The last thing I want is to get stuck with having to take a cab from Oakland to SF...that won't be cheap!

Booked a refundable room at the Radisson.  Looks as if they have a building with older rooms, as well as a tower with new rooms.  I opted to be wait listed for a Tower room if available.

The A's are home against the Mariners that weekend.

Walnut Creek Embassy Suites is the perfect spot in my opinion. Stayed there multiple times including the TOTD shows in 2016. Basically connected to the BART station and you can park for free at the station for free on weekends. Plus you get a huge breakfast and the area is clean and safe.

Side note----Russian River Brewing completed their (much nicer and much bigger) brewery/restaurant/tap room a few miles north of Santa Rosa in the town of Windsor.  Skip the Santa Rosa shop and go to the new one.  The weather likely will be fantastic....and the beers are even better.  @lexicondevil is totally on point with the wine tasting as well.  Healdsburg has some top notch restaurants--the whole Sonoma area is like a western version of New England--quaint towns, open space, hiking--without the bugs and miserable winter weather.
