10C Memberships for kids?

LukinFanLukinFan Florida Posts: 28,972
My wife and I had our first child less than a week ago. I thought it would be cool to get him a 10C number. I seriously doubt that I’ll ever use it, but is it even allowed? My wife has an account as well, so that would make three for the household. Has anyone else done this?

  • I don't see why you couldn't, but I also don't see why you would.
  • It would be fun to see how high the number is if nothing else

It’s a neat idea to think about
but while you think about that, think about this...
will the 10C be around by the time your young one is ready to use it?

Policy doesn't seem to have anything against it, just one membership per person.

You have to be 13 to post on the forum, so he can't flip posters on his own for a while.

I wonder what they do about tickets. I can see a 12yo liking the band and having an account. If they get 10C tickets and "take" their parent to a show, how do they pick up tickets?
  • Congrats on your first child. My wife and I have memberships because we need 3 tickets per show. Without the Christmas singles or need for the tickets it may be a waste. But it’s 20 dollars and you’ll get an extra download code. And shirt. So it may be worth it. Congrats again.
    Peace,Love and Pearl Jam.

I say sign him up.  Us old timers need the youngsters to sign up and keep this giant pyramid scheme afloat.  It’s like Social Security.

Thanks everyone. I emailed the 10C to make sure. If they say yes, I’m going to do it.

Don't you get assigned a number by ordering something from the store? If so, just make your next order under an email address you create for the baby.

I heard back from the 10C. A very nice, quick response. They said that I am allowed to sign up my son . He is even allowed to get tickets as long as he has a photo ID. We plan on getting him a passprt while he is young, so he would actually be able to get tickets. Wild. Now we just need some shows.

Ya nothing against the OP but really surprised a newborn baby can get tickets to a Pearl Jam concert through the lottery. Especially now with the switch over to mobile entry, this causes me a lot of headaches thinking about ways it is going to be abused.

Wouldn't it be harder to abuse with mobile entry? If Junior wins the lottery, he has to show a passport and enter through the gates as one ticketholder, no?

At what age do they even require kids to have their own ticket?

No ID needed unless they change what they did in 2018. All you needed in 2018 was a Ticketmaster account to upload the tickets to. Then you could do whatever you wanted with the tickets. I know this is against 10 Club rules but it was abused in 2018 with little knowledge on how it worked and if they stick to the same format 2020 is going to be even worse since people do not even have to be at the venue to get their tickets. Not going to make it anymore oh well just send a screenshot to someone and do not have to worry about it anymore.

I think it depends on the venue.

I wonder if we will see mobile ticket rules get tougher because of this guy:

I'm surprised they said yes to obtaining an account. Based on the Terms of Use, it says users must be at least 13 yrs old to use any of their websites. I'm sure that's there for some legal CYA reason.

Interesting. So I could have uploaded my Fenway 10C tix to a friend's TM account and transferred both through there? Seems like a big loophole. Admittedly, I didn't play around much aside from transferring my extra each night to friends.

My 13 year old has an account but then again he has been to two shows.  We enjoy concerts and so do our kids. We now have 6 tickets for the five of us.  I'm waiting for the 10 Club to develop a new family pass ticket lottery system.  It could work well.  Doesn't have to be the greatest seats in the venue but would likely avoid the blotto drunk Evenbros.

Don’t worry, I do not plan on taking my newborn to a Pearl Jam concert. I just thought it would be cool to get him his very own 10C number. He’s not going to affect you or anyone else from getting tickets.

Roger this is short sighted - think of the special treatment you can get in GA and think of the tambos and jumbotron time!  Amazing! Lol.
.I know you are not one of these doors who slap headphones onto their small child and think it is ok to go to a show.
Unfortunately, there are a lot of these people....we have all seen them.

If you tattooed the number #5 on your child's forearm, them you would always have a spot in the 10c line, sometimes only enforced overseas though

Well, it took me over 3 months, but I finally have my son signed up with his own 10C number.

We are now just over 700,000 members! I wonder how many of those people are repeat subscribers.
