I've never listened to Mirrorball. I know most everybody here would probably love to strike me with lightning for saying this, but I'm just not into Neil Young.

I'm not into Neil Young either. I've given Mirrorball a listen though for the PJ factor and there are some good tunes: Act of Love, Downtown, and Throw Your Hatred Down are all pretty good.
Not against a Mirrorball 2, and EV “duets” style album, a McCready 50-minute solo track, anything, but any new PJ album or EP would be nice to grab in the near future - if anything, to guarantee a supporting tour.
Neil isn't exactly cranking out winners these days either, but is still doing it constantly. I'd prefer something from the band who hasn't released anything in nearly 6 years than another Neil Young album with part of PJ as the band.

Pearl Jam aren’t exactly cranking out anything these days though!

Interesting question. I had to go with PJ even though I’ve never really been into any of their studio albums - I’ve always felt that they come across 100 times better live. I couldn’t really go with Neil Young, though because I haven’t enjoyed anything from him since Chrome Dreams II, which is probably my second favourite NY album.
Speaking of ‘I’m the Ocean’, check out Hawks & Doves’ cover.

Just throwing it out there...if Ed had been on vocals and the album was a PJ album, not a collaboration with Neil, where would it sit in people’s minds compared to other PJ albums?? For me it would sit comfortably in the top 5 or 6.
