    For my money:

    1. Pearl Jam
    2. Bon Iver
    3. The National

honorable mention:  Phish.  Not a huge fan, but damn fun shows
I just don't see how Bon Iver and The National can be seen as great live acts?  After a few songs I want to shoot myself.  Very low key bands.

You have to see them live buddy...
They aren't in my top 3,
but both acts are just INCREDIBLE live!!!

I could easily put Avett Brothers or Foo Fighters in at #3 with little to no argument.

    My current favorite will-travel-anywhere-for-these-bands are
    Umphrey's McGee
    PJ
    My Morning Jacket

Seen UM over a hundred times, so won't travel for them as much these days, but in general I'd happily fly all over the world for these three. Probably about 15-20 bands that could fit in my top five. Few honorable mentions for the arena world would definitely be U2/Muse/Metallica. Always killing the production game.

My 3 favorite "Live" bands are PJ, Radiohead & Phish.
My favorite "current" live band has the be:
    Phish
Both PJ & Radiohead have NO shows scheduled for this year, so cannot be classified as current to me. Hope PJ doesn't wait as long as Tool did for there next "current" album. Need a new album tour for PJ to be current  :s
So, What you Giving ?........ (Thanks Speedy, Alesek, & Arq+friends)
    What You Giving

If you guys have a chance, catch a Chris Stapleton show. Absolutely fantastic and already at the level of much more revered acts

    Headstones

Those are easy.  They go balls out for 3 hours plus, rocking their asses off with setlists that change every night.

    It's getting to #3 I find hard.

I feel that bands like Metallica, Foo Fighters, U2.  They bring it every night, but the shows aren't that different from tour to tour.    I don't think Headstones change it up every time I see them but, that kind of energy in a bar.... I find it hard to top.  I never leave a Headstones show disappointed.  It's always balls to the wall :)
