MedozKMedozK Tennessee Posts: 9,209
On to Round 3 to determine the GREATEST song on the ONLY greatest hits album on my list. 'Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975' by The Eagles.
Eliminated Round 1 -  Best Of My Love, Peaceful, Easy Feeling, and Desperado
Eliminated Round 2 - Witchy Woman, Tequila Sunrise, and Lyin' Eyes

For anyone new to the game:
You are going to pick the song that you think is the "Weakest Link" after 3 days I remove the two (2) songs with the most votes.
We will then move on to the FINALS  - Remember you are voting to eliminate songs from contention.

Lets have fun with this. Remember debating and discussing why your right and others are wrong is always fun.

We need to take it easy because one of these nights I'm going to take it to the limit and then you'll wish I was already gone.

You thought of that during a Tequila Sunrise, didn't you? Clever, Desperado Dyer.

The Eagles have to be a top 5 band for anyone who's seriously into vocal harmonies, right?
Extensive and excellent use.  Right up there with CSNY, the Beatles, and the Motown greats.

So, The Eagles and Lynyrd Skynyrd seem to have the most backlash so far. Which would make some sort of sense if Huey Lewis didn't make such a splash with some.

The Eagles aren't a band that I love, but I find that their harmonies are perfect, and some of the songs are great driving songs. I haven't found an album yet where I am willing to dismiss every song.

It's not like he has put up Milli Vanilli's greatest hits (oh lord, here come the Huey fans). :giggle:

    Opinion edit: Already Gone FTW,

The Eagles sound is a little too Country-Rock for me.

I do like CSNY,  Beatles(Rock & Psychedelic era) & some Motown.

True - for me, while I don't love the band itself, I have much fondness for some of their songs (On the Border among them).

    I'd call them...solid.

I find the placement of Bic lighters directly below rather ironic.

Funny, because I was surprised at how many Lynyrd songs I liked after doing that poll, while I was not surprised I don't really like much of Huey beyond the radio hits, which get old quickly. I don't know any Eagles songs beyond the 2 greatest hits albums, but I love them both quite a bit. Volume 2 is better IMO. Hotel, Life in the Fast Lane, Heartache Tonight (yeah, it sounds like an Oakridge Boys song, but I love it), Seven Bridges Road and Victim of Love are fantastic.
    It's a hopeless situation...

As a kid I always thought the lyric was, “There’s gonna be a party tonight” not “There’s gonna be a heartache tonight” lol. Probably my favorite Eagles song.
