Vinyl question for Audiophiles

Apologies if this was answered before but I didn't find anything searching for it.
I finally have some space to have a turntable again after many years and it came yesterday - very excited.
So the question is, are Pearl Jam vinyl reissues simply digital masters pressed onto Vinyl format? (If so, will just stick to CD I guess, don't really see the need to go out and buy more Vinyl - unless someone wants to convince me otherwise, I'm all ears... and no, can't be just about seeing the black circle spin... I'm talking differences one can hear).

Is there an audiophile preference for certain pressings/masterings over others?

Thanks in advance!

I think you will want to find the first 3 original releases - everything else should be good - PS I have all of the originals plus bought the Yield and No Code reissues

first three meaning ten, vs, vitalogy?
i remember vs and yield, i'm pretty sure i have those originals,
    ten only remaster,
and yield and no code - only the reissues - so on that note, do you like the reissues better on those two or the originals?

to add to that, in general i have no interest in reissues where everything is turned "up to 11" and overcompressed... if you lose the instruments or the musical feel, it's not an improvement if it's just louder...

if new vinyl is pressed off digital masters then why not just stick to your CD?

Maybe it's just me, but I think the reissues sound great.

I don't think that a single Pearl Jam album was recorded in analog. I could be wrong about that, though.

Having said that, the OG No Code and Riot Act both sound pretty good; the rest are fair to middling.
    I SAW PEARL JAM

I think everything up to Binaural was analog. Maybe even Riot Act.

I know for a fact Ten was recorded analog, mixed analog, mastered digitally. Just looked at the CD today. SPARS code is AAD.

that maybe the case... doesn't mean that said Analog master was used for pressing the Vinyl (I know this sounds stupid but has been done - people have used Digital Master to press Vinyl!)

Yea, I'm really not sure how many were analog recordings. I should know that.. :s

CDs sound good. OP vinyl sounds good. RI vinyl sounds good. All are good, just different.

None are what I would call reference quality, though.

    YMMV.

I was just reading a bit about this and the AAD code appearing on the cd is seen as a good indicator that the vinyl had an analog master for certain period in the transition from analog to digital.

Riot Act was the last PJ recorded fully analog.

I have the OG Yield CD and it sounds great on a good sound system.

The OG Yield LP sounds OK on a good sound system.

Also the Vs/Vitalogy represses from the box set sound like crap on vinyl.

I can't tell the difference between the OP of Vs and the box set version. Vitalogy is night and day (OP is better)
