Ottawa 2005 Show

Just listening to a bunch of the 2005 shows. This is a great show with an amazing set list. If anyone was at that show what are your memories? The beginning after opening with Wash with Go, Hail Hail, Animal, Brain of J, and Corduroy is incredible. Throw in Don't Gimme No Lip, Bee Girl, and Harvest Moon along with Green Disease.

I just really enjoyed listening to it. Great set list.

In my top 3 shows out of 25.  Rainy night, starting out with Wash was perfect.  After Even Flow, I remember Eddie saying.."Ok, now it feels like a Friday night".....and then they just blew the roof off the place.  It was a show that seemed to go on forever...in a good way.  "In Hiding" always seems to make a setlist complete...and that was the case on this night as well.  Awesome night...awesome tour.

I've been to 35 shows.  Ottawa is right up at the top.  Best black, rearviewmirror, crazy mary that I've personally caught live.

The whole tour is quite spectacular.

I wasn't at Ottawa, but I was at the Gorge and Vancouver stops of that tour.    It's a weird little tour.   I think it was the first tour I went to where they weren't touring for a specific album.  Thus they could pull songs from all over their catalog.    They were on fire that tour.   It's right up there as one of the best tours I saw (the other's being '98 and '13).    Gorge '05 is my favourite live show I've ever seen by anyone anywhere :)

Ottawa is one of the best, if not the best, show I've seen.

One of the best out of 43; it was certainly the best of the seven 2005 shows I saw (although, given I saw my one and only hometown show in 2005, nothing will ever "top" Thunder Bay). I freaked right the heck out when "Wash" started, and it was my first "In Hiding" that night as well. (This was also the night when Sleater-Kinney played "Steep Air," if that's the sort of thing you're keeping track of. ;) ) Anyway, great, great night in Ottawa, and it was matched in 2016 with that piledriver of a show they played in the same venue.

I'd love to get SKs set from Montreal or Ottawa.  Two of the better "free" shows I have ever seen.

Their Montreal set was an absolute smoker - think that's the one that ended with their "Mother" cover and "Dig Me Out." What I'd give to see that tour again!

London, Ottawa, and Halifax are the best three (Canadian) shows from 2005.

There is a pretty cool Live on Four Legs podcast about the Ottawa show.

I would also argue Vancouver.   The Gorge hangover show is pretty amazing :)

Vancouver is indeed solid and I'd put it in the top 5 of 2005. I also really like Vancouver 2011 and 2013. I'm overdue to have another listen to the 2003 and 2009 shows.
  • My favorite show I've attended.  We didn't have Ten Club tix for this so we were way up in the blacony.  They ended up being great seats since the show was not sold out and there was a ton of room to move around .  The first 8 songs or so are just incredible.  Great C-Mary and excellent RVM as well.  Loved GTF to open the encore.  There hasn't been a better tour since 2005 imo.  The band was tight but still left room for improvisation when necessary.
