I'm not here to be negative but it doesn't really seem like the band has made any effort with this.. This is just my opinion but when you are chosen as the record store day ambassador it is your challenge to get the word out and attract consumers to take part in the festivities, buy vinyl and support your local record shop. Even as a 10club member there has been very little hype.. or information about their plans... I'm disappointed. Maybe Jack White should be ambassador every year?

Eh, every RSD Ambassador hasn't done anything. Jack seemed to be the only one who cared, but he had skin in the game.

Don't think so. If he did, he would have reissued Ozzmosis.

Any chance they will show up at Easy Street for a secret show or anything?

What have they done other than giving RSD the chance to piggyback of their brand - and that Mike video?

Metallica did a show at Rasputins on RSD when they were ambassadors, but I doubt PJ will do it.

  • Totally agree with the lead comment. Unless we missed something the band did nothing beyond releasing a limited edition vinyl package. Disappointing. Also disappointing the Heart of America no longer is on the band’s touring iteniary. South America Europe Australia. Maybe a 2021 tour of America. Hope they are listening because this is one dedicated fan who is now losing interest. Off He Goes...

lol.. Most of the world isn't on PJ's tour itinerary...  I would guesstimate that 98% of PJ fans have to travel to see them.

Pearl Jam has always supported and encouraged their fans to buy vinyl.  I think they’ve done enough over the years to promote buying vinyl and supporting your local record store :-) Plus their record store release this year was live at Easy Street

But they weren't Record Store Day Ambassadors over the years - they were Record Store Day Ambassadors THIS year. All they did was put out an exclusive release, which they've done in previous years anyway when they WEREN'T the Ambassadors. So what did they really do this year as Ambassadors? Nothing. In fact, they decided to stop sending fan club members VINYL RECORDS anymore, while still keeping membership prices the same, so in my opinion, they did the opposite of what an "ambassador" should have done.

Oh wait...I forgot. They (Mike Mccready) made that nifty YouTube video telling us to go buy records.

You guys bitching about "RSD ambassadors" like Pearl Jam was some big industry let down on April 13 - what has any RSD ambassador ever really done?  Most don't do shit, you just want to bitch about Pearl Jam because it fits your "absentee band" agenda that you're all so convinced of.  Most of the time the ambassador is just a namesake promotion to give out buttons, stickers, or other cheap, free swag to go with your shopping experience.  Stop acting like Pearl Jam was some big fucking disappointment on RSD.  They weren't.

Eddie, Mike, Jeff, and Boom made appearances at record stores. Eddie had a half hour interview. Most ambassadors don't really do much. It's just a title. There were 4 Pearl Jam related vinyl

Nobody wants to hear facts here.  Just outrage and disapproval.
