Are we done?

If Mike McCreedy doesn't know or can't articulate the status of Pearl Jam I am guessing it is a pretty good sign we're nearing the end of the long road.

Which is ok.  

With more than 5 years passed since Lightning Bolt the band (or individuals in the band) havn't really had anything new to say with the voice of Pearl Jam.

Which is ok.

The the 2018 tour was great fun and when we walked out of Missoula I thought "I bet that's the last time, leave on a high note".  

Which is ok.

But how does it end?   Will it be a slow shadowdy drift into the fog never to be seen again?  Is this the death of an old friendship in which they just stopped calling?   Will somebody finally break the band's inherent discretion and explain that Ed quiely quit by not showing up (thats my bet)?   Will they do some cheese ball final tour?  Did they just do a final tour and forgot to tell us? 

Are we done?

    jfc. They just don't have any recording/touring plans right now.

    I think declarations that they aren't done is wishful thinking. They may not be, but it's true that if Mike is unsure there is absolutely no way we can be.

    Mike's comments concern me so much more than Jeff's. That they never went back into the studio last fall is stunning. That there seem to be no plans to do so this year is even more stunning.

    Whatever is going on, we are definitely in a new phase of their career.

    A new phase is probably more right. Less touring, less recording.

    6 months and nothing! What does Ed do on a daily basis?  At least we know the other guys have been doing some stuff since the last Fenway show. Oh well, time to focus on other things and maybe we'll hear they are up to something again later in the year.  Sure doesn't bode well for any creativity with a new album though.

    They’ve said they’ll do it til they can’t any longer in the past. No reason to think the plan is any different. They’ve been in legacy mode for  a decade now. Don’t know why everybody’s so shocked. There’s been doom and gloom that they were finished since I started regularing the boards around 2000.

    I don’t get this.  Are there a bunch of new people here?  Pearl Jam has been slowing down for like 15 years now.  When the 2006 tour was announced people complained about that (less cities than usual).  2009 and 2010 was even worse.  2011 - “two US shows for an anniversary!?  Bullshit!”  Then only a handful of shows in 2012.  
    Pearl Jam has gradually becoming less active since like 2003.

    I think people are shocked because they were given a new single from a “forthcoming album” and now find out there is no more new music at the moment and for the foreseeable future. 
    Lightning bolt was 5 years ago.
    when was the last time Ed put out a solo album even. The well is dry my friend. That’s cause for concern.
