Thank You Pearl Jam, For Writing The Perfect Song

My father passed away two weeks ago.  He was my best friend.  He was the kind of man that always had a great story to tell.  Sometimes they would be so incredibly unbelievable. He always had the right answer whenever there was a problem. He was so full of love, sometimes in the more traditional way a father loves his kids, sometimes it was love his own way, but he always guided me down the right path.   He was my man of the hour.

Thank you Pearl Jam for writing this song. It has been so incredibly cathartic for me during this time of grief.  It has allowed me to cry, to laugh, to smile, and best of all remember amazing things about my father that I had forgotten or had trouble remembering. It helps fill this gaping hole
I now have inside of me.

I forever love you dad.  I truly feel that this is just goodbye for now.

Very sorry for your loss, sounds like he was a really great guy. When I’m in need of some solace, I often turn to Just Breathe, myself. I’m glad you were able to find some comfort in music.

Sorry for your loss, sounded like an amazing man. That song, and several other PJ songs got me through the death of my father 5 years ago. Not easy to go through, but making that connection with a specific song or lyrics can make it therapeutic in a way. Stay strong.

So very sorry for your loss. I lost my dad 1 year ago this week and it does get easier.

At Wrigley this year, standing in the rain during the Beatles Rain, (my dads favorite band) I feel like I crossed over from a heavy sadness to celebration.

Very sorry for your loss, SpokenJeremy.  You found solace in a great song.  Glad it was there for you.
“The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man [or woman] who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.”
Variously credited to Mark Twain or Edward Abbey.

That song was my go-to when my father died; it helped me grieve in that black time.  Keep finding comfort in it, and anything else that brings you and your family peace.

    Very sorry for your loss.

It is strange what comforts you in your darkest hour, for some reason, Who You Are was my constant go to song when my mom passed (5 years ago this week).  Maybe because I never really cared for the song before and was just getting into when she passed, I don't know what came first.  But I know that song will forever take me to that time in my life.  And 5 years later, it is comforting and makes me smile.   I'm going to go listen to it right now.  Take care.

Sorry for your loss. Have you watched the 2003 movie called Big Fish? Your song is part of the soundtrack.
