Ideas to sell whole memorabilia collection?

Hey, like some of you in this forum, I am in possession of a large collection of Pearl Jam items that I have collected for over 20 years...

I must have 90+ posters, many wearabale and t-shirts, show tickets, Vinyls, Bootlegs, Guitar pics, Ed tambourine, etc.
Practicly all of the stuff is stored, not being used or displayed...

So, my question is How would you proceed if you wanted to sell your collection?
Would you have ideas, suggestions, to sell these items as a whole?
Any taker like ‘museum’, Hard Rock Cafe style restaurant, collectors or hardcore fans...

Any toughts?

cheers!

    1,000 for the whole lot!

Gonna take time, but I would piece it out and only sell in lots that make sense (stickers, pins, etc)

  • Yes, piece it out. And you start that process by first sending me the tambourine. 😎

If you don't already have, put a spreadsheet together to track every item you have and its condition.  Then do some research on what you think the items are worth (prior Ebay sales, this board, Facebook if you have it, etc...).    You will get extremely busy if you decide to sell and the spreadsheet helps track what you have, sold, and need to ship.

Try not to sell more expensive items on Ebay as they'll take 10%.  Ebay works great for smaller items you just want to get rid of at a fair price and get the largest pool of buyers.   I am not on Facebook so am not aware of that world thank god.

If you are motivated to get rid of everything quickly then accept offers, but if not just be patient with it.

Remember, you've stored this stuff for 20 years and kept it in great condition presumably.  You've probably stood in your fair share of merch lines, paid to travel from show to show, etc....    List the items for what you are willing to sell them for and don't listen if people bash you on the price.    I never understand why people think they should be entitled to buy items for cost.  If they want it for cost than they should have put the time in and stood in line and bought it themselves.

I don't have experience selling large groups, but from what I've seen it seems like you should expect to make at least 30% less if you sell as a bundle. Probably even worse for larger collections. That method you're asking people to buy things they already have or don't want on top of wanting a "bundle" deal.
I would put together a list as suggested, see what interest you have here or other markets first, then sell what remains in bulk or smaller bundles.
I know there's a handful of posters I'm looking at if you decide to go that route, so please update us what you intend to do.
