Binaural is an instant classic album to me.
For whatever reason, I put it a notch below their first five but on its own, it really is great. Maybe not perfect...

Obviously the live shows affect my wish that the album started with "Of The Girl"...and yes, "Evacuation" isn't that good...and it could do without "Soon Forget" but otherwise, it's a solid album.
All great points. And I do agree that Binaural is not a perfect album, but how often do we really get to see a perfect album from any band or artist?
    Vs.  :D
(and Ten, and almost Yield and Vitalogy....and "almost, almost" No Code.
VS and Ten go unsaid. 😎

    Riot Act
Riot Act. I'll always have a fond place for it. Engagement ring in hand, flights to Australia booked to propose to my one true love. Also, reminds me of my first gen iPod! The white beast! Riot Act was one of the first albums I put on it.

    Avocado slightly over Binaural, IMO.

Why did you put Lightning Bolt in here that came out in the 2010's?

Not sure he meant decade, just this century
His eminence has yet to show.

    Must not forget

Of the Girl, Light Years, Insignificance, Grievance, Rival, Parting Ways, Thin Air

They actually came to the conclusion that In The Moonlight, Fatal, Sad, Education and Hitchhiker where not needed.

At minimum Fatal and Sad should have been on the record imho, but could easily see Moonlight and Education as well.  Hitchhiker not so much.

I get that a lot of people are not fond of Soon Forget, but, I love it.

I'd love to see them do a deluxe reissue with more of the tracks the way Blake produced them.

I thought we're talking this century too. Anyway, I just wanted to create a slightly different poll than the original one.

    Backspacer
    If we’re ranking...
Backspacer, Binaural, Riot Act, Lightning Bolt, self titled
  • Backspacer
Backspacer is my favorite album, and I never get tired of listening to it!
    "A beacon on dry land"
  • Binaural
Good to see Binaural in the lead. I’ll go to my grave saying that was the artistic pinnacle for the band and the best recording sessions of any album.
