White Album 2018 Remix

Anyone heard it yet?
How does it compare to the remix of Sgt. Peppers released last year?
How does it compare to the mono remaster?

  • I love it. Really well done. Right on par with the Sgt. Pepper release last year. At this point, I like it much more than the mono remaster. As much as I love the new mix, the Eshee Demos are what it’s all about to me. They’re mind blowing.

I felt the same way with last year's remix of Sgt. Peppers. Love it more than the mono remaster of 2009. It was like hearing it for the first time again it felt so amazing. I am sold I think, will go out and get a copy!
    Thanks!

I can't keep re-buying these albums over and over again! Arrgh!! Hahaha! Agreed on the Sgt. Peppers deluxe reissue.

Streaming this now and I am impressed with the sound. If I didn't own it already, I would definitely get these, but then again I stream almost everything now besides records. I loved the 2009 reissues. Thought those were fabulous too. This version adds a nice full sound to the recordings.

    The Esher demos are great.
This show, another show, a show here and a show there.
  • The thing I keep going back to with this new mix (and Pepper from last year) is that this is what the record would sound like had the band made the same album in 2018 instead of 1968.

Can't wait until I get to those. Working my way through the remix. There is a lot to unpack with this release!

So can we assume Let It Be and Abbey Road are next for this re-re-visited re-mix, deluxe deal?

  • Mine should be arriving tomorrow. I LOVED the Sgt. Peppers remix so I'm assuming this will be great too. Giles Martin does a great job. His father would be proud.

Agreed on the Esher demos. These have been part of Beatles lore for ages if memory serves. Cool to have them all cleaned up!

Same. 2018 Sgt. Peppers is my go to from now on. I was so fucking excited listening to it for the first time.
Look forward to buying the Deluxe White Album.
$42 is a bit pricey, thinking of waiting till boxing day sales when they reduce the prices but I am too excited to wait that long.

  • This boxset is worth every penny. Every disc is great and so is the accompanying book. I can't believe how much interesting session stuff they still had left unreleased after the Anthology.

I love this new re-mix!  Paul is a phenominal bass player. Listening to this makes me want a Rickenbacker!

Wow, yes! Skipped ahead to listen. That's amazing. I love how they experimented so much with their sound.

  • Are you guys talking about the vinyl or Cd version? The only thing I’m seeing on Amazon is the deluxe for $138. Is there a cheaper version? Would love to hear this? Thanks

I'm streaming it on Google Play because I have a subscription. No idea the sound difference with the physical versions, but the digital is phenomenal.

I see there's a CD version with the 2018 remix of the album and the Esher Demos for $22.97 on Amazon. It doesn't have the additional takes and that phenomenal Helter Skelter version, but it's the cheapest option to get access to the demos and remixed songs.

    Still have not unwrapped it.
Looking forward to listening to it on the weekend.

i have the deluxe CD version.  It has the 2018 remix, the Esher Demos, a ton of out-takes and a 5.1 surround sound Blu Ray. (Which is amazing, by the way!)
