What I Realized at Fenway

I realized something new that makes a PJ show unlike any other show.   The anticipation of what song will be next makes the show really incredible.

I've seen over 30 shows since 1991, and I never before thought to appreciate the "mystery" of the next song!

Agreed, we'll said. How about hearing one little note between songs and trying to figure out what is next?

I made the mistake of viewing the leaked setlist prior to the show.  First time I've ever done that.  I wasn't referencing it very often.  I mainly just wanted to make sure my bathroom/beer breaks didn't coincide with something I didn't want to miss.  The beer lines were ridiculous on night 2.  I was actually sober at the end of the concert.  Why Fenway doesn't have beer vendors in the stands blows my mind.

I'll say this....I felt weird looking at the setlist, like I was violating a code or something.

I was ticked off at Night 1 at Fenway (only show I went to in the US).  They had a two beer limit, and there were six in our group.  Of course, only two of us were willing to do beer runs so my extra was always taken.  I was hoping to let loose a little but only got like three beers during the show and they were small cups.  Oh well, made the 10am flight back more bearable.
  • But yes, the anticipation is awesome.   I used to get excited when they would be running around changing the songs but usually it doesn't end up being anything too crazy.

I realized that the volume was not as high as 2016.

I can no longer willingly drink more than possibly two beers at a show, because I will not pay over $30 to have the 3rd.  It is absolutely insane the prices.  You can literally get illegal substances cheaper than a single draft beer, this is not sound healthonomics.
