I don’t typically order bootleg CD's, but since I was at Seattle 2, I figured I’d get the physical disc. The confirmation email says it is a CD-R. Is that typical? Last cd I bought was from the 2009 tour. I don’t recall if that was a CD-R or not. How is the quality of these CD-R's?
Interesting.  My email confirmation does not mention "CDR" at all. It mentions "CD".
I've always received CDR's in the past, but I've never ordered a stadium show before.  I've read here that stadium shows in the past were silver disks.
Difference in sound quality?  No.  Difference in how long the cd will last over the years with digital crackling and problems?  Yes.
Did you order from nugs or through PJ?   I ordered through PJ yesterday morning and my email said  cdr.  Guess we'll see what they come as.
I ordered directly from PJ.  Now I'm noticing the small print: "All Nug.net CD orders are CD-R copies unless otherwise noted in the item description". Hmmmm.  We'll see.  My 8/8/18 disks are scheduled to arrive tomorrow.
I ordered from PJ too, and got mine yesterday. They're CD-Rs.

Yeah, but it wasn’t over 3:00 so people immediately write it off. The band was having a great time and were all smiles throughout. The one encore threw people off, but whatever, people that were there know it was awesome and the energy on the floor was great, and the sound was great as well.

That sucks they are cd-r's :(  They had enough demand from the 2016 stadium shows to do silver pressed.  I wonder why they didn't this time around :(

The description on my order says CD not CD-R yet I still got CD-Rs. Had I known I'm sure I would have just bought the FLAC files and burned my own.  I also wish I had known this before I bought SEA N2 Tuesday.  Oh well.  I'm sure I won't buy any physical discs from nugs anymore.

How quick did you put in your order?  I think for the Stadium shows in 2016 only the first batch were silver pressed, and it switch to cd-r's really quick.   For night 1 I think I had my order in by the afternoon on release day, for night 2 in the evening....

How can you tell if it's a cd-r or silver press? Got the 8/8 disks and I have no way to tell.
Is the playable side of the disc silver like a CD you buy in a store or a light color (CD-R)?
You can also tell by the label printing.  The silver-pressed discs are usually screen-printed or sublimated whereas the CD-R's are inkjet.

Wow does Night 1 sound good. I downplayed it since I assumed my first GA experience was the reason it resonated with me, but it's showing up for sure in the recording

Dude good call- received a few this past week and was like wtf, they’re not centered- the center circle is half white and they printed 1/5 of the label off the disc.  at least I have that covered when I make mine at home.
I'm like an opening band for your mom.

I bought the mp3 for Seattle N2 and am pretty disappointed with the sound quality. It's pretty blown out, esp the louder songs. I've very familiar with bootlegs having listened to Dead tapes back in the day and understand that it might not sound like a properly released live record, but I doubt I'll be listening to the show very often. I have a decent stereo system. Would the FLAC sound a lot better?

Hmmm, I have been streaming this show from Nugs and have listened to it in the car and on my computer. Neither are a high quality audio system and I thought the show sounded amazing. I am not sure what Nugs streams their shows at though, but I just have the standard subscription.

Breakerfall on the Wrigley boot is rough. Missing guitar parts, which completely makes that song so great.

I'm not much of an audiophile but I was thinking about going with ALAC instead of mp3 for the Wrigley shows.  Am I going to notice a significant difference with the ALAC?  I'm just going to load into my iTunes and listen on my phone with headphones or through my bluetooth speakers.  My headphones and speakers are decent but nothing high end so not sure if I'll notice a difference or if it's even worth buying the ALAC.

ALAC in theory should sound better. it isn't as compressed as an MP3 file.
