Can't wait for a studio version.

That is all.

Of The Earth should have been in place of Sleeping By Myself on Lightning Bolt imo. I think the band has been quoted that it will never be on an album and just a cool song that they play live every once and awhile. Seems like people love this song or hate it.

On the Third Man record that is the shit.  HTI into OTE is amazing.

Agreed.  And Jack White and Mike's back and forth solos really add a cool element to the song.

Song is kind of choppy, like a hacksaw going through a tree trunk. But would take it over Sleeping By Myself for sure.

I'd rather it just stay as a live track. Not sure if it would translate well in the studio.

Even then it’s one of the most uninspiring songs they have. I never thought it had a good flow.

the third man record bundle was a awesome purchase. and im kinda like lukinfan and would rather just have it stay as a live track only and for the same reason they mentioned(don't think it wud translate well as a studio version).

TMR version blew me away when I finally heard it last month (gasp) - really got a sense of the various layers and colors.

I really like the song, I think it is the closest thing to a porch -esque song that they've done since Porch... I think part of the reason they haven't been recorded a studio version is uncertainty around the general structure of the song and how it should end/climax/resolve.

I would really like this song to get the studio treatment so long as they can keep that "live" feeling and don't do a fade-out at the end. - - However, I think the band has said that they tried multiple times to get a studio cut they liked and were not able to do it, so not sure we will ever see a studio version unless we eventually get a lost dogs 2!

I think Pearl Jam missed their shot, when this should have been on the PJ20 soundtrack. I would have dropped RVM and replaced it with Of the Earth.

This song is almost a decade old and way overhyped. Stop wishing for it to be on the next studio album.
