Suggest a suburb to stay along I -90 before arriving to Boston?
I have an AIRBNB near Fenway Saturday through Wednesday however I think my brother and I will be in the area a night early. I am looking for some locals suggestions on where is a cool but affordable area to stay just outside of Boston along I-90 for Friday night.
thanks in advance!

Worcester, Millbury, Grafton: About 50 min West of Boston, Worcester being a city then more ‘burbs as you go East. Plenty of places in Worcester to stay/eat/drink, really depends what you’re looking for. As far as food/drink if you like seafood, people love The Sole Proprietor on Highland St. For steaks and something a bit more pricey, the One Eleven on Shrewsbury St is good. I love Ciao Bella on Grove St for lunch or a quick dinner.
Westboro, Framingham, Natick: 35-45 min West of Boston. A mix of small city and ‘burbs. Plenty of places to stay/eat/drink, local and chain.
Then it’s pretty much Newton into Boston, so city life, tons of stuff. Every place to stay will be pricey/booked, especially because it’s move-in weekend for the college crowd so it’s hard to rec anywhere. For food/drink I like Boston Beer Works and Bukowski Tavern, but a million options depending on what you’re looking for.
I-90 (the Mass Pike) can be a shitshow at various points and times.
Heading West during the week from Boston to about Westboro, rush hour starts around 3:30ish.
Heading East as you get around/into Boston it can be shitty on the weekends and/or in the evenings. Or just randomly, it is construction season afterall. If there’s something at Fenway, it’s even worse.
General Boston traffic is always bad so plan ahead. Get to Fenway EARLY.
