Super 8 in Watertown, was the cheapest I could find ( about $145 after tax) and there are buses nearby to both Fenway and Cambridge areas.  I used to live around there so I'm looking forward to checking out my old watering holes in the early afternoon before the show.
Im staying there on Saturday and Sunday night before moving to the Porter square hotel. I'm fine with being a few miles outside of town. We should meet up while we're there!

Cool!  I'm only staying Tuesday night as I only have tix to night 2, sadly.  But Donahue's and Buff's Pub (wings are pretty good here)  are not far from there if you're looking for some local places that aren't as crowded as Boston proper.  And you'll have fun in Porter.   Eddie once popped up on the stage at a tiny place called the Toad in Porter Square after a Boston show ('06 maybe?). A cool bartender version of the story is here: http://lifeonacocktailnapkin.com/eddie-vedder-in-the-house/

Wife and I are on Beacon St. in Brookline. My question is the walk pretty easy and safe? (looks about 15 mins) or if you were staying in this area, would you just take the T Train or a cab.
My wife is recovering from a broken foot, she can walk, but slowly. Just want to make it comfortable for her. I have never used an Uber, always take a cab in past.

Staying at the Residence Inn near Fenway with my son.  For those coming in on Saturday, the rooftop bar might be a good spot for a sound check party.  Pretty sure it's open to the general public....not just for guests.

Depends on how far down Beacon. (what number range are you?)

Its a straight shot, easy walk and should be relatively safe, only question is distance for the wife's foot. T trolley goes right down Beacon, that's a pretty easy and inexpensive solution. Either jump out at last stop before it drops underground (St. Mary's Street) and walk to Fenway if you're going straight into show, or take it to Kenmore (next stop once its underground) if you want to eat/drink in Kenmore Square first.

Yeah that's really not a bad walk.

All depends on your wife's foot, but its not far at all (the point where you'd cut off Beacon to cross through the big parking lot to get to Fenway is across from 820 Beacon).

sweet, thanks for the info. Her foot is better and she will put the boot on while she walks which will help. Most likely walk then

    I'm at the Boxer

looks like about a 45 minute walk.  Is that a safe area to walk back after the concert?  I'm thinking uber will be outrageous.  Could try the train option.

Two separate airbnb's as we have to go home in between shows (damn kids). Sunday night, we are about a mile away, right off of Brookline Ave.  Pre-gamed at the Yard House last time, but it was mobbed.  Might look for something else this time.
Tuesday night, just as close, but over by the Prudential Center.  Somebody recommended the Five Horses Tavern, which looks pretty good.
Five Horses is solid.  great taplist and solid "upscale" pub food.  It's pricey, but it's to be expected in that area.  Also check out The Parish cafe for some of the best sandwiches in the city and a solid draft list too.
Thanks for that info.  I looked at the Five Horses menu, and yeah, pretty much as advertised.

Is the Wishlist, or pre party at the Lucky Strike (old Jillian's)?  I haven't been there is about 20 years.  Is it still basically the same type of place?

Best place in the area for excellent food and amazing cocktails IMO is Eastern Standard. Right around the corner from the park. Not cheap, but worth it. Sweet Cheeks BBQ is a great time as well. Also not herded like cattle i.e. The Cask, Game on, etc etc. I can't wait!!

I'm staying in the exact same area but am not sure whether to walk or take the train back; it probably makes more sense to walk back then catching public transportation.
