Fenway 1 Request "Long Road" (WWII Vet Grandfather/Santa in Hospital Sgt. Major Thomas Story)

My grandfather means the world to me. He fought in the 88th infantry in Italy during WWII and retired from the U.S. Army with 30 years of service. When my parents divorced when I was in high school he became the most present male force in my life and we share a strong bond to this day. For the last 5 years I have been caring for him and my grandmother (they celebrated their 70th anniversary this February). I am writing today to make a request for Fenway Night 1 for Sgt. Major Thomas Story. He has been in the hospital for several weeks with heart complications and we are not sure what the outcome will be. I would like to see if the band could dedicate the song "Long Road" to him because he is 93 years old and he has certainly walked the Long Road of life. My name is Paul and I will be at both Fenway shows trying to keep my composure and heal by being around old and new friends and listening to the music of my favorite band. Thank you to PJ and everyone for helping my family heal during this time. "There's no need to say goodbye..."

Be cool if the band could sign the Missoula poster for him. I’m sure it would mean everything to see that all their sacrifices in Italy for Freedom & Free Speech gave you these 2 nights of Rock n’ Roll!

He is doing a little better today but they did find some fibrosis on his lungs do to working in Navy shipyards when he was young and working closely with asbestos.

Update- He has been placed in a skilled care facility but the outcome is bleak right now we are taking things day to day.
