Times where you weren't expecting to hear the song you wanted, but got it!

My first PJ shows were November 23rd and 24th in LA back in 2013, and I remember talking to a nice dude in line outside the venue about what songs we wanted to hear and I mentioned Breath, and he was telling me that the odds were stacked against me all in all because it isn't one they play as often as others

Low and behold, I hear the first notes of Breath on the 24th and was sooooo happy haha I remember turning to the person I went to the show with and went "this is the one I wanted to hear!" and just had the biggest smile on my face :)

And I would love to hear the happy satisfying moments from others who may have had a similar PJ song experience live like that!

    All or None, that is a great one!  In LA1 in 2013, they did All or None from a sign request from a kid in the crowd and it was absolutely wonderful :)

    Ha! "Breath" for me too. Finally got it Seattle N1.

    I was already floating above the stadium during the first encore. Those initial chords struck and I returned to my body momentarily to utter the words "this is it" and proceeded to launch into the stratosphere.

    And I was completely sober. The power of music, I tell you.

    All of Binaural in Toronto 1 2016. I kept joking about them playing for me for my birthday and lo and behold they did it. =)

    Breath. Hampton 2016. They played it the show before and I was pretty bummed because I figured there’s no way in hell it gets played back to back. That show, imo is so underrated due to the NC cancellation.

    Prob Ed solo...Melbourne 1 2014. Played Immortality in the encore. So unexpected that at first I didn’t realise it was Immortality at first. Caught me off guard!

    those are two songs i'd wanted to hear live since my first show in 1998. by 2008, i'd resigned myself to the fact that they'd likely not be played again, so they were not even on my radar for this show. because i was AT roo, i didn't know who you are got played a couple nights before, so when they started in on the tune, i was pretty excited. for w.m.a., because it was reworked a bit, i didn't believe they were actually playing the whole song until a minute or two in.

    really, that show was full of suprises and that is probably one of the key reasons it remains my favorite pearl jam show i've seen to date.

    Hearing them play my favorite song from their catalog on my birthday was the best gift I could have asked for. (It was a killer version too)

    In Hiding in Moline 2014. Was chasing it since '98 and couldn't believe it got played during the encore after playing all of No Code.

    What a killer show. I just revisited it the other day. One of the best encores ever imo

    That is probably my favourite first encore that they have ever played.

    For me it would be Otherside in Krakow. I was already lucky to hear it once before in Worcester. To be honest really did not know the song then as well as I should have. Getting to hear it again and actually being able  sing along was amazing.

    Pretty much everything at Fenway 2.

    I was a huge doubter that Fenway would happen after Theo left and they played Wrigley. I got an email from 10C saying that if I could get myself there on about a week or so notice, they'd supply me with two tickets in the 10C suite.

    Well, yeah, I got myself there.

    Lukin into Not For You was amazing... I wonder if the band was starting to make plans and that Wooden Jesus bit was a tease or if it was truely random.
