Was anything stopping you from passing your phone to others so they could get wristbands? I'm assuming they only had one wristband for number of tickets...but what if someone gave their phone to five different friends...would others be shut out?

My wife and I got in the GA Pit right field gate line at 4:30, and were in Safeco around 5:30. No issues at all. I guess we were lucky.

Shame on Safeco, I took a 6 hour flight from New Jersey to get to the show ! Mass confusion outside the gates , lined up like animals no one to direct anyone and had to throw out my tiny purse ,the ticket clearly states no back packs or large bags ! And they blamed it on the band , shame on Safeco I hope Friday is a better set up to get in

Man, I was in Vancouver for that U2 show and got stuck in that mess. That was horrible.

  • We got in the GA line at 3:15pm.  When I got close to the security check, a guard came over to tell me my small purse was too big.  I showed her I could fold it over and make it fit into the required size and she said it wouldn't be allowed, that I'd have to check it.  Although some people were allowed to bring a purse in if it could fold into the size, I wasn't allowed to do that so don't take a chance on Friday.  Seems like it depended on which line you went through.  Several other women in the lines next to me were having the same issue, so we all ran to check our purses.  The place to check your bag was on the complete opposite side of the stadium, across the street in the food truck zone next to Century Link, so not nearby.  As I was running to check my purse, I passed the security guard that I had been standing next to for over a 1.5 hours.  She was holding the pink 4"x6" card but she never spread the word to us folks in line about the size restriction, she just stood there the entire time doing literally nothing but getting a tan.  Alot of frustration could have been avoided if security had gone along the line earlier and made sure people were aware.

This was around 715 or so. And it was like this at every gate- I think this one was Center Field, but I could be mistaken.

Things were dicey. Nobody was moving. We stumbled into the right 'clump' that got funnelled into the rails. There were a lot of people getting no anxious.

I was told I could not bring my tiny point and shoot in though the clearly sign said no "professional cameras" (i.e. detachable zoom lens). He claimed it was the band's request that I not bring in a point and shoot though most iPhones take better photos and video. I have brought tiny point and shoots to every Pearl Jam show going back to 1992. Anyway, I just said okay and went to the adjacent gate ten feet over to the left and that guard let me in no problem. Yeah, your entry really depends on what security guard you get and how educated they are about the process and details. P.S. Definitely arrive early like around 5 PM.

I honestly felt like I could have just walked in. They scanned 1 ticket and I was on my way but I stopped to have the guy check it out.

    Thanks,

But, i don't understand why they don't do that. Have to show your phone on your way to your seat.

I wonder if every Stadium will do this? I've only been to one show where i had a Mobile ticket and was given a printed paper/ticket.

This pic is good representation of what I saw at 7:30p. Walked around pretty much the whole stadium and it looked like a mess. We ended up going into the right field entrance (per tickets) and there was a shorter line seemingly just for GA. That took maybe 10 minutes and I scanned all three tickets right from Apple Wallet and they did not ask for ID and they gave us all wristbands right there. I've been to a ton of shows (though none at a ballpark) and this was the worst line situation I've seen. I was not at the U2 Vancouver show. As several others have said, most all of this can be avoided by arriving earlier.

Doing that would take more time and just seems like a waste of paper, doesn't it? Why would the value in printing tickets out when you're scanned be, from their perspective?

Ha, maybe it's by design. Get people to show up 3 hours early so they can spend their evening leading up to show time buying their $8 beers and $25 concession meals. ;)

Good question. Based on the info so far, this sounds pretty easy to exploit (passing phones or screenshots)...hopefully it isn't, or the system is at least fixed for tomorrow. Did the pit seem over capacity last night?

I tend to go to an early 4pm dinner/drinks session and then head over around 6-630.  Even though I pay more for beer at least I'm in the place, know where I'm sitting, and avoid the "rush".  I'm guessing 830 will be the typical start time so maybe even showing up at 815 will work

This is the 20th show I've been to.  I cant fathom how this wasn't planned better.  Totally impossible to figure out what line to be in due to lack of signage and where to line up.  Line are criss crossed.  not 8mpressed with new ticket systen
Couldn’t agree more. Also not very fair to us android users who had to wait until a few before the show to figure out how to access tickets.
Android users were able to access tickets well before the show. They couldn't download them to their digital wallets until a few hours before the show, but they were able to pull them up online, which was sufficient to get into the show.
Actually, no, for most of the fans in the looooong 10Club customer service line, the ticket had disappeared completely from the account. there was no ticket to pull up. 10Club had to confirm your identity and then text you the tickets.

I had GA last night and accidentally went the wrong way and went to left field. I noticed there was a field tickets wristband table but went around the stadium to the right field gate. Once I got there and saw how long the line was, decided to go back and try left field. No line, went right in and to the table where they gave me a wristband. May want to try that tomorrow if you have a ga ticket.
